My favorite film of all time

Has to be The Goonies

Because when but the 80s could you have a quasi-villain named One-Eyed Willie in a movie, especially one aimed at kids, and have it taken completely seriously and not made the butt of endless dick jokes?

Ah, for when the world was more innocent, and legwarmers and big, goofy looking hair were the height of fashion!

(I could be just a little bit drunk, too, so be nice to me and my delusions!)

Ah, the 80s were fun!  They were really the last hurrah before the world sunk into a mire of sexual phobia and rampant political correctness

I'm rather buzzed right now, too. My work actually requires off-the-clock drinking so that we can make recommendations, plus we get a $50/month beer allowance. Right now, I'm buzzing on Founder's Curmudgeon and New Holland Dragon's Milk (9.5 and 11% ABV, respectively).

But I think my favorite movie of time (also from the 80s) has to be Aliens. I've seen it way more many times than I can recall and I still love it. Bill Paxton was fantastic as Hudson.

Oh man. I dunno where you work, but that sounds amazing! I'm not quite so fond of beer, myself, but if it's good stuff and not just crappy grocery store domestic, it sounds very worthwhile!

I'm very fond of Aliens, too. And Alien, as well, which is easily my favorite horror film of all time. They're the best two films in the franchise, though I do have to admit to having enjoyed Prometheus as well. Largely, admittedly, because of Idris Elba and because it was at least better than anything post Alien 3! Going back to Aliens, though, my favorites have always been Jenette Goldstein as Vasquez, and Al Matthews as Sgt Apone. And I have a bit of a soft spot for the version that includes the cameo by Mac McDonald as the head of Hadley's Hope, because I always admired him in his role as Captain Hollister in Red Dwarf.

Yeah, before I started here I didn't really know much about craft beers, and I thought Blue Moon was expensive. Now... Lol. The craft beers are so much more expensive, but often times the price difference is worth it.

There are some fantastic beers you might like that you might like that are aged in bourbon barrels, giving the alcohol content and flavor a kick.

I know pretty much nothing about craft beers, I'm afraid. The only stuff available in my little town are domestics such as Coors and maybe a few things like Dos Equis. Most of the bars are dives, too. There are a couple of big liquor stores in one of the nearby cities, but they're almost two counties over so not really worth the time and fuel most of the time. But if I ever have an excuse to visit one, I'll keep an eye out!

Yeah, I just saw that a little bit ago. It's really a shame.

Hehe sadly not drunk whIle replying to this but I'd be terrible at that drinking job anyway.  I much prefer sweet and mild alcohols to beer.  I'll have to wait 2 more months before my home made mead is ready to drink lol.
As for movie.... I think I've worn out my copy of Road to El Dorado.  Even to this day when im having a crappy time, I'll Que that up and it always makes me happy.

I'm not really that fond of beer, either, so I'd probably suck at the job, myself. I tend to prefer bourbon or scotch, or sometimes a decent wine. I'm not that wild about sweet alcohols, largely because the ones you buy tend to be way too cloying and sickly sweet for my taste. But I have always kind of wanted to give mead a try, and I hope your batch turns out well!

Yeah Goonies was a good movie. The 80s was a good decade, at least from the perspective of movies, music, and fashion. Politics not so much, but politics always sucks. So onto enjoying the Safety Dance, shoulder pads, synthesizers, top Gun, Ghostbusters, Eddie Murphy, and the Heisei era of Godzilla!
