The NEW Commission Journal! FAQ Included!

So, my old commission journal has been buried under the mass of journals that have come since, but it's also relatively out of date, so to speak. This one will be the new standard, and should have everything that you need to know, up to date!

Terms of Service

I reserve the right to accept or decline any commission for any reason. If your commission includes characters that are not your own, you must give me proof of permission before I will write about said characters. If you are rude, disrespectful or hateful, I reserve the right to refund your commission money and cancel your story. In the event of trademarked and copyrighted characters, I follow international copyright laws, so while I may write about characters from certain shows and ideas, they may not be directly referenced, and I would prefer only original characters from these universes be used.

TL;DR Don't be a dick, and we'll get along just fine. Follow the law and stuff.

The No-No List

Yes, there are some things that even I won't write, and this is the short list of them. I respect all walks of life as much as I can, but there are topics that I'm simply not comfortable, or legally able to write about.

Cub, guro, necrophilia, scat, sexually induced death, castration, sexual dismemberment, and penile sounding are all out, for sure. I'll add more to this list as I think of it.

Prices

Commissions operate at a flat rate of $15 per 1,000 words. Some months, I will offer a monthly special, usually in the form of a $10 discount if your story fits a certain theme, and I'll update this journal accordingly each month, so check back to here if you're curious about qualifying.

Length

I take commissions of any length, in theory. As long as I'm open, you can order a commission. It must be at least 1,000 words, but there's no cap as to how many words you can ask for. At a length of more than 10,000, however, I will ask that the story be broken into chapters or separate uploads if at all possible. It's simply unfair to my other customers to dedicate that much time to one piece of work, and leave all of the rest on the back burner.

Commission Types And Weekly Specials

Standard: Open monthly when commissions open. They operate at the normal rate, and when the "standard and sale" commissions are full, they are closed. No discounts are offered, and they're done in the order that they are paid for.

Sale: Some months, there will be a month-long sale for a particular theme or kink. These share the same backlog as standard commissions, so when they're declared full, these close. Like standard commissions, they are done in the order that they're paid for, not the order of request. [Edit: The current sale is the May Sale, with a $10 discount overall on transformation themed commissions.]

Meal Ticket Monday: These commissions come in five lengths, and open every Monday unless otherwise noted. They're done within 24 hours, guaranteed, and they're open even when the regular backlog is full. For this priority service, however, you pay a small premium. These are a great idea if you need something done fast! Rules and lengths listed here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6743522/

TF Tuesday: Open, as you might have guessed, every Tuesday! Each Tuesday, I open for two slots, up to 5,000 words a piece, for transformation themed commissions. These don't operate within the regular backlog either, so they're always open unless otherwise noted. They do not, however, have a time guarantee, and come with a $10 discount off of the usual rate.

Tidbit Thursday: Sometimes I just need a break from longer stuff. On Tidbit Thursday, I open for two or three slots, each one at 2,500 words, for a discounted rate of $30. These operate outside of the regular backlog, but do not come with a 24 hour completion guarantee. They're perfect for those quick, naughty ideas that don't quite need a larger commission to be captured.

Payment

Ah, yes. The nitty gritty part of the journal.

First and foremost: I don't begin work on your commission until I've got at least some portion of the payment! Issues in the past have made this a necessary policy. Your finished product will not be posted until it is fully paid for.

I accept payment chiefly through Paypal. My account e-mail is joshiahwarren@gmail.com, and all payments can be made to that location. I do accept cash and cards, in the rare event that you're getting a commission from me in person. Other forms of payment will be considered only in the most extreme of circumstances, if none of these are an option for you.

FAQ

Do you do trades or requests?

I do, but only on a case by case basis. As far as freebies and requests go, every now and again, I'll open for them, or do a giveaway at a certain number of followers. As for trades, just ask! I've rarely done them, but I'm more than happy to, if any other writers or artists are interested. I'm also open to collaborations; I'm happy to do a story for a picture or work with another writer on a project.

Can I get a discount or negotiate your prices?

I offer discounts several times throughout the week each week, and occasionally for a month long sale. Negotiation is currently not an option, as I need to make a certain amount of money so I can eat, and have a place to live and all of that other boring adult stuff. Life; am I right?

I can't afford a commission, but I want to help. What can I do?

Hey, it happens! I hear "I just can't afford a commission right now" all of the time. So...here's what you can do:
1. Follow me on twitter at @The_Joshiah. When I post about openings, retweet me! Word of mouth is the only advertising I have.
2. Join Patreon, and support my account! https://www.patreon.com/Joshiah?ty=h Even if you can't afford a commission, you can pledge as little as $1 a month! That's less per year than ever getting a single commission from me. If you don't even have that, even your support is greatly appreciated!
3. Tell people that I'm open for commissions on your own personal journals! It helps, trust me.

Do you have any books for sale?

I have several! Tales of Veloria: http://www.amazon.com/Tales-Veloria-Book-Wolf-Huntress...
Acid Wolf: http://www.amazon.com/Acid-Wolf-ebook/dp/B004TAF7W8
Murder At The Gala: http://www.amazon.com/Murder-At-Gala-Joshiah-Warbaum-e...

If you purchase one of them, please leave a review and let me know what you thought, be it good, bad or ugly! Reviews help to get the books more attention, and thus, more sales, which I desperately need.

Can I draw artwork based on your characters, or a story that you've done?

Please do! Just remember to link back to me if you do so, and give due credit. I love to see other people's interpretations of what I create.

Where can I reach you for a commission?

If you prefer to message me over a different medium, I have a lot of choices available.
FA, IB, SF: Username is Joshiah. Send me a message anytime.
Skype: Joshiah, e-mail attached is joshiahwarren@gmail.com. I occasionally pay attention to it.
Telegram: Joshiah. I won't be posting my number here, but you should be able to find me.
E-mail: Joshiahwarren@gmail.com or JoshiahAD@gmail.com, whichever you'd prefer.

The Final Word

I think that just about covers everything. Thanks for reading all the way through this journal, and keep an eye out for monthly commission specials and openings as the months go by!
