2 Laptops to sell - but I need help

To all of you tech savvy furs around here.

I have a pair of laptops that have been sitting around here like lazy bums and I want to get rid of them.

One is a Toshiba Satellite and the other is a Lenovo ThinkPad. I want to wipe them clean and factory reset them but I can't figure out how.

If someone would be so gracious as to point me in the eight direction, that'd be amazing.

Thank you guys!

I've always found DBan to be good.  Edit: You might need a hidden factory-reset partition to restore them to factory state though.  Be careful not to wipe those too, DBan is very permanent.

DBan may be your best option.

I wanna, but I don't wanna just up and kill it. @_@ Like, if I screw it up, sounds like game over.

Hmm, well it depends what you mean by factory-condition.

If you want it to have all the software that the laptop came with you'll need some sort of restore CD (usually you can get a copy from the manufacturer's website) and possibly some data from the hard disk.

thats from toshiba itself so it may help depending on your laptop

Thanks Wes. This worked like a charm. XP Sadly it didn't fix the track pad. I was hoping it was a driver issue, seems to be a hardware issue.

I may run it to best buy to see what's up.

I'm not 100% on the model, I'll let you know when I get home tonight. It's nothing high end though. Really only good for work, not play.

2 gig ram I think.

Thinkpad edge 14. That's what it is.
