My only concern is for the cat, the penis of a male cat is way smaller than one of a dog of the same size, and it can be too much for her, but since the dog in the video is rather small too I think that no real damage can be done, but it will hurt for a couple days...

Right, pulling them apart was what stunned me. I had miss understood what was happening at first, thus my reaction after having watched the whole video. I had realized it when the camera changed angles and was like, "oh, Oh!! I see now." pop, "O_O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

It certainly is an "interesting" thing that happened in the video. I would never imagine species would willingly do that sort of thing. Leads one to wonder a bit if this could be development of inter species relationships, as I am sure many of us have seen how nursing animals will sometimes be reported raising other species of animals. This video depiction maybe also be part of that trend, though of course it won't be seen in the best light for quite some time.

I think you are suggesting that perhaps felines and canines will perhaps produce offspring someday? nope. It's rare you find species that have genetics close enough for that sort of thing. Horses and Donkeys have genes close enough to produce offspring though it's infertile. Worth mentioning that humans and chimpanzee's genetics are even more alike than a horse and a donkey. ^_~ But no, Canine and Felines are too far gone from eachother genetically it would be like saying a mouse mating with an ant eater.
The reason they nurse each others young at times is their genes that tells them to, "nurse little fuzzy things with whiskers" sometimes misses and hits a different specie. The Cuckoo bird will go to another birds nest and leave its egg there so birds of other species will raise the young for them. Those species don't 'want' to raise a cuckoo baby since it's too big, kills the babies of the nest, and the birds in charge of raising it will likely die of exhaustion or starvation as they both try so hard to feed it enough.
To us, the Cuckoo egg and the Foster parents egg look so different we wonder how the bird cannot tell its not her egg! But to a bird, the gene is more about recognizing the color in the egg, so the Cuckoo mimics it well. Further, as Evolution has shown us, this obviously wouldn't work 100% of the time. Sometimes the Foster bird can tell the egg isn't hers, and gets rid of it. The Cuckoo's will eventually come back to check on their baby and upon discovering their egg is gone, will destroy all the other eggs, and destroy the nest.

But why didn't they just leave them alone? If they really did not know what to do in such case, why didn't they look up on the Net or ask somebody? At least that's what I would have done if I wasn't know that they should just be left as they were. They were not caring with the animals at all. They were just amused at them. That is clear. The cat and the dog especially at the end seemed to be quite disturbed having an audience. It seemed if they wanted some damned privacy. They turned away from the camera even.
