Oh, for a time machine...

I managed to dig up that "Green Persimmon" comic I mentioned in my previous journal, in an issue of K-Zone (the magazine for kids) dated June 2000... that came with a free fossil pokemon trading card. I unearthed it along with my 2009 Free Comic Book Day issue of Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. XD

Seemed somehow profound. O.o

Then I proceeded to chill out for most of the day with one or two remixed versions of the theme from the C64 game "Samurai Warrior: The Battles of Usagi Yojimbo" (among other things, such as MLP Meets metal, Doctor Who Meets Metal and so on) to whit, it was only a matter of time before I gave in and drew Usagi... er... once or twice. X3

Incidentally, during my 'random' appetite for samurai I stumbled onto my forgotten copy of The Forbidden Kingdom, which admittedly isn't necessarily samurai themed but still awesome.

Also, I have to ask if anyone else, when watching Sucker Punch, thought of the cheerleader from Heroes in that scene where, in Sucker Punch, Baby Doll fights three giant feudal warrior/demon things?!

Because that's exactly what I thought. "Why the hell didn't Heroes go somewhere cool like that?" Hiro had the ability to travel through time, and a sweet katana, that had some significance for a short while. Now, how much more awesome would Heroes have been if they'd actually done something cool like that, with the cheerleader stranded in feudal Japan, fighting three giant superpowered warriors?
Nah, that would have spoiled Heroes's wonderful... uh... hmm... story...? What story was that again?

Dude, Sucker Punch was a strange, but awesome little movie, though. Frankly I'm surprised I actually bought all four seasons of Heroes. That'll probably be the last thing I ever watch again. Heck, I'll likely watch Krull a hundred times over again, first... although, I'll watch Heroes again long before I ever watch Shyamalan's movie adaptation of "The Last Airbender"... still not happy about that movie. >8|

But I digress!! Back I go into my somewhat samurai obsessed delirium... at least until 7:31pm Sunday (local time) when the new Doctor Who series starts! Woot! Woot! 8D

Who else is excited?! 8D
I may need to lie down!? 8D
