I noticed hardly anyone ever comments on this site.

Do you just assume I won't read it or won't comment back or something ? :P

Then again this seems to be a re-occurring theme, people seem a lot more communicative on FA heh...

It's just how people are. They read journals and think they're doing enough. Asking them engaging questions in your journal is the best way to squeeze out a real response.

The message system is very easily organized here simply by pushing a button, but unlike FA, it isn't sorted by default. FA doesn't do it well, of course - it just piles it all on the same page, while this info is at least broken up when you sort it... I guess the point I'm making here is that people don't want to be bothered reading the messages and looking for things to read/comment on. People just don't care that much.

Regardless, if everyone ready everyone's comments and replied then we'd have a very crowded community. I think people are passing the duty of commenting on to the next person who reads the journal. This habit works on FA because it's so damn populated and the odds of another person readon and commenting are high enough. Here on Inkbunny, though, we're just getting started and people are trying to import their bad habits!

I try and comment all the time. =O But I am currently 210 submissions behind. x_x;; So if you posted things recently I've not even seen them yet. =x

I think the user base for IB is smaller than FA. On the stories I write, I usually average 1 comment per 150 views after it's been around a while. That's on FA - on IB, the ratio is even higher.

People don't want to share comments or opinions on furry art, they just want their fap material and for everyone else to keep quiet (it breaks the illusion otherwise~).

But in all seriousness, sometimes getting no comments is a good thing, as it may mean that there's nothing inherently bad with your art. But, going along with that, it also could mean that there's nothing inherently good about it either. I just think that people are either too shy to comment. :P

There's another reason I think people don't comment, but it could be considered offensive by some(many) so... I'll keep that one to myself.

FA is simply more active, period.

It's all about the userbase. I don't have numbers, but I'm rather positive that FA has truckloads more users than IB. Everything here is smaller...views, favs, comments, etc. I'd say you should give IB more time to build up a more active userbase.

My thoughts on this have been that it's a newer site so a smaller audience in comparison to FA. This gallery seems to be growing rapidly so I feel it will only be temporary.

Someone might suggest that most people here have only one subject on their mind... *eyes the "latest" and "popular" sections on the front page* <_<

So, I suspect you just have less of your core audience here... Plus most that are will be on FA as well, and possibly just comment there instead.

Your art's fine, Inkbunny's just a smaller site. There's 5000 active per day - which sounds like a lot but only a tiny proportion of those will bother to comment. The server has plenty of headroom, fortunately.

I haven't spent nearly enough time on the site myself.... I try to comment on artwork here and there, but generally I don't comment if i can't think of anything... thoughtful to say.
