You can also create a Curve (Bezier or Circle), then, in the Data Properties of your Text (the lowercase "a" icon), open the Font menu, open the Transform menu, then in "Text on Curve", set it to your curve object.
If it's a Bezier curve, you can customize the end points of the curve in edit mode for slightly more control, but if you want the simplest half-circle arch, the Circle curve works just as well, and you can change the "Size" parameter in the Transform of the Text Data Properties to control how it sits on the line.
