Hi everyone,
I hope everyone is doing well and that you had a nice January. It has been quite a while since I shared an update with everyone, so I figured I would. Work has been very busy. I have had very little free time except for the time off I've been given. Life outside of work hasn't allowed me to do much, as a lot has been going on. Recently, two of my appliances failed, so I had to get them replaced as they were not worth fixing. I also injured my ribs while doing some housework, but it was nothing major, so I am just dealing with recovering naturally. Besides that, things have been going well, and I've been trying to get myself into a few new hobbies and interests.
Regarding writing, I haven't done much. Both the lack of time and interest have kept me from continuing further. The second chapter of the fantasy saga is ongoing, but I don't find myself enjoying it much. It's not surprising, since I was never really into fantasy. I am unsure how long it will continue or if I will end up abandoning it. Honestly, as time has gone on, I feel like continuing to share my work is less worth it. I get very little traffic and even less interest in commissions. This has never been about making money, but I do enjoy turning around the money I make into artwork from people in the community. I also enjoy the few constructive comments I get from them.
However, a few things have changed. The rise of AI and AI-assisted writing is becoming more popular and commonly used. I have never and will never use these tools for my work. But that does not change others from wanting to or actively doing so. I believe this has further decreased the value of my writing as I am neither a professional nor is English my first language. Regardless, I haven't stopped writing, but I need to find a new project I am passionate about, or things will remain slow. Just as a reminder, I appreciate my audience for their continued support.
