Things that bother me in this life (not to the point of wanting to kill anyone)

by
living in a place where the power goes out all the time. Blackouts are kind of common, but the worst part is that my laptop — a laptop I replaced the battery in specifically so it wouldn’t suddenly shut off and to get it out of “desktop mode” — now shuts down when the battery is at 50% or even 70%, and the power reserve doesn’t kick in

making me lose all the pics progress and making me goin nuts a bit

hope to now recover the work this whole week...

p.s. i dunno how to put emojis here so any tip would be very appreciate :')

If you leave your laptop plugged in all the time, the battery can degrade over time.  It might seem redundant but getting a regular battery backup (like the APC or Tripplite devices) can be nice.  And some have a data cable you can plug into your computer (laptop or otherwise) where you can configure it to shutdown or hibernate or something if it goes to battery (the APC bettery, not your laptop battery).

thankies that would be a good idea, once i get the funds for do that, the thing is i never leave the battery plugged until it reach 100% and the curious thing is i replace it a couple of months ago so once i get funds again i'll go to the tech and see whats happen...

It might be a good idea to take the laptop to a tech and find out if the battery is defective.

I am assuming you're using Windows 10 or 11

You hold the windows key on your keyboard and press the period (.) key
In some layouts it's the semi-colon (;) instead of the period (.), that may be the issue?
