Pink Sniglets on Parade

elephantasia, n. A condition in which one sees elephants (frequently pink) all over the place.

After learning of aphantasia, a condition in which someone has a blind mental eye and thus can't visualize things in their head, the above suddenly occurred to me.

aphantasia? I have the opposite "problem". I can see things too well with my mental eye. You might say my mental eye is 20/5. I see things so well that I can describe them in such minute detail that most artists can draw them almost perfectly just from one description.

That's a pretty good skill to have. It also works for a writer since it basically allows you to play mental filmstrips of your stories while you're struggling to keep up writing it all down.

Yeah. I don't complain about it; I can guarantee that. Sometimes, though, I'll reread a passage I wrote and my mind will say, THAT isn't what I saw, rewrite it. So, I do a rewrite but the rewrite is better than the original. I guess I get a little too fast when I'm writing. LOL
