I've seen this happening over the last many years, it's easy to start with targets that already might not be liked (Loli,shota,cub). But as carrots said next will be feral then potentially furry as a whole, it would've been unthinkable ten years ago to think of what we've already lost and in another ten from now, what? There's no shame in this content, do not allow yourself to be tricked into thinking there is, please speak up lest this spread even further beyond even furry's.

Seen most of these fight back options already, so doing my part.

It really sucks that several places have been hit recently. Civit.ai got hit (and ended up rolling their own payment processing, though it dropped the value of buzz to creators pretty sharply), then Steam and Itch. I think Bad Dragon (e621, etc) has been affected in the past as well. Patreon of course got affected a few years back too.

i did not take any "vaccines" so the career I am in $100k+ debt for at 7%+ more a year, which I studied for ~5-6 years ended a few months after i started making salary, i also cannot take commissions due to the resulting lack of an ability to haz bank account, go to furry cons, etc

imagine if like 10% of the "socializing" time every furry did went into creating art. If they're trying to "end" furry, it meanz no art

Collective Shout is an organization that has recently gotten into the news cycle for bullying VALVE (Steam, Counter-Strike, Half-Life) into compliance, and that should tell you how dangerous these people are, since Valve bends the knee to basically nobody but themselves.

It's really ashame, beyond mine and others enjoyment around furry related subjects and the community it's brought me, artist fundamentally still need to be paid. Putting aside all the issues around what crypto is used for, such an unstable currency would never allow anyone to save and you can't spend it like normal currency, you'd still need to exchange it somehow and that could easily be blocked, fighting is our only option at this point it seems.

There's actually quite a few crypto coins that are meant to just be stable with the dollar, and do a pretty good job of it. (not to say it might not just explode) - but they are supposedly backed by a real dollar for each one etc.

Some crypto thing behind the scenes would be perfect. Converts money into crypto, crypto exchange, converts crypto to money. BUT, if a company could do all that, they could just... transfer money... so... xD Nwe payment processors!

This. I have a few artists that I can commission with the USDC stablecoin. They even give me a discount because they don't have to pay PayPal fees... I'll never touch BitCoin or any of the meme coins where the price of a commission might double in a week.

Nice if they are actually backed by fiat money, but in any case I don't keep more in my wallet than I can afford to lose. But there are so many vested interests in keeping the crypto networks running that I don't think Collective Shout and their ilk can even start meddling. Good luck telling Binance to block the wallets of furry artists...

YEP, Binance is amazing! I really wish more people would get used to using cryptocurrencies. The problem is that most people are resistant to change and easily settle for whatever’s convenient. Hardly anyone wants to accept crypto payments or even use Binance at all.

Even though it’s centralized, the chances of them bothering you are much lower unless you’re sending over $5,000 in a single day, you pretty much stay under their radar. They're a "smaller" company in that sense. That said, I do agree it’s still centralized. Ideally, people would use cold wallets and not connect directly to any centralized system. But asking that from most people is like asking them to learn advanced equations it’s just not going to happen. Honestly, the fact that people are even using Binance is already amazing. I’d give a 5% discount to anyone who uses Binance, no hesitation.

Well, yes. But I can't in good conscience claim that there is no risk.

"Cold" wallets are not rocket science either, and if people don't like Binance's KYC process (and tax information gathering) that's the extra step that's needed. (Back before Binance existed, I managed to set up a wallet myself and buy like .0001 Bitcoin from a stranger on the local equivalent of Craigslist so I could support Inkbunny. I don't remember the details now, I just know it was possible for a rat of my limited patience).

But yay for taking payment on Binance. I usually commission stuff a bit out of your comfort zone, but just to support the good cause... I need cute pics in my gallery too.

I'm aware of the risk, but just as with the volatility even of stablecoins, I mitigate it by keeping the balance low. I'll be annoyed if they confiscate the funds or USDC loses its value, but it won't be a crisis.

I wouldnt say "potentionally" but more like surely and will.

From what i seen Visa has a policy that basically says they forbid "imitation bestiality" which is a vague term describing animals and animal likes having sex. With that one in mind, its impossible to publish any furry content because the fuckers will always argue that its either an animal or an animal like being therefore its bestiality even when the artwork in question is the alien queen from the alien franchise.

I do feel like there's still some merit to the "potentially" term, since there's no guarantee that such vague sawed-off shotgun blast tactics won't bleed out beyond pornographic furry to the furry sphere in general. The situation could end up where only the most "approved" anthropomorphic content has access. Disney and other corporate interests. Animal art needing to be certified as "for-kids" to meet branding standards. Sharing and especially profiting off of artistic expression limited only to people with the right connections, as has so often been the case with other fields.

That scenario is less than certain, but still a likelihood for when agendas of this sort go unchecked.

I know some artists on this site use Stripe as a payment processor to receive payment for commissions so... bad news.

We spoke with Stripe yesterday about their content policies. They confirmed that they will not be able to support adult content that fits the following definition: “content designed for sexual gratification.”

Stripe asked us to pass along the following message to our users:

Stripe is currently unable to support sexually explicit content due to restrictions placed on them by their banking partners, despite card networks generally supporting adult content (with the appropriate registrations). Stripe has indicated that they hope to be able to support adult content in the future.

Done as much as I can, Collective Shout is a blight taking such a massive swing at the games and NSFW games industry. Reported them for political lobbying as an Aussie charity, which is a nono. They are a sex-negative, anti-abortion, right wing 'Feminist' group that have been on the wrong side of women's issues in the past countless times. The need to be stopped and hopefully they have overstepped this time so that they truly do get investigated and deregistered.
