Today is July 24th 2025. I think I should offer some explanation for my absence, for I have been absent for a while. I'm not going to do the usual by series update, I'm just going to keep this relatively simple as to what happened and my plans moving forward.
I was hospitalized with no internet access and have only recently been discharged. I am currently recovering from the ordeal. That is all I will say for now unless pressed for details.
I couldn't work on any of my projects which made me abjectly miserable.
Now that I'm back I'm still too weak to just jump right in, but I have a strong desire to do so as soon as possible.
Firstly, I would still like to have a July submission, and I'm thinking another Binx piece is in order.
As for the series, in order of importance I would say I now have 3 main written series I will be focusing on.
Better Than Best Friends, BTBF is my magnum opus, whether it's liked or not. It is a very important work for me and is a distillation of my deepest held beliefs. I know it seems purely negative, but this is a false impression. I'm currently working on the chapters in which Jonah finally meets Jonathan for the first time. This is likely to be my longest and sweetest story, but it takes a long time to start up because it's setting up for those pay offs.
The next most important work that I take pretty seriously is Bits&Bobs. I really mean it when I say I wanna iron out this saga, not just the christmas novella, but the whole surrounding story of Kyaw and Sven and their eventually meeting and friendship.
Lastly we have Binxed! I have a chapter 3 already in mind, and it also contains some important ideas. While it is the least prioritized and least serious, it is also the easiest to write precisely because it is so low stakes. It's mostly humorous, with a dash of seriousness and heart underneath. That will become clearer with time. Perhaps its most serious aspect is it doesn't shy away from violence and cruelty but it doesn't try to glorify it either. Because it's low pressure, I will likely end up writing it faster than either Bits&Bobs or BTBF. Those latter works require a lot of ground work.
So that's all I have to say for now. That is all I have the strength to say for now.
