Rumor control: Scotty edition.

People keep coming to me with all kinds of retarded and batshit ideas and I'm going to share some facts... Only the facts.. And also some of the craziest batshit list fictitious rumors and I'll dispel them with why.(I'll add more to the list as they come in.).

+My last contact with Scotty was on June 25th, 2025 at 0836 CST in the morning while he was at work.

+Scotty, a few months ago did mention he was going to go offline for a period of time and didn't want anyone to panic. I had a panic because I had no other heads up he went offline rather suddenly with only that conversation from a while back as a possible warning.. And like a doofus I panicked with others.

+Usually the longest he's been offline for me is a few days or weekend. I was holding out that it might be a lack of cellular minutes, but Scotty tends to keep his accounts topped off.

+Scotty had started a second/new job.

+Myself and a few others info on him are very out of date as he moved with his family last year. Old phone and old Address. When he comes back online, I will amend this trouble.

+Scotty, is some one I've known 20+ years. I know what city he currently lives in, what his jobs are and have info on contacting one of his employers. He's the one that brought me back into the fandom and got me to talk to more furs.

+There is a family member with poor health that he had raised concerns about the last few years. Their condition has gotten slowly worse over time.

+I've been checking arrest blotters in his local city and Obituaries for both Scotty and the family member he was concearned about. Neither have shown up. Did both local searches and Name, Name+Surname searches. I'm not worried as a result of this.

+I've been messaging him daily on Discord and have his contact on Telegram, [Skype, MSN and other contacts that are now defunct are not listed for obvious reasons.] You do not need to contact him. If it helps you feel better, then I wont stop you. Just be aware when he comes back online, that's a mountain of messages for him to sort through.

-=Crazy rumors I'm going to dispel RTFN.=-
-Scotty has been captured and detained by ice.
I imagine he'll giggle fit on this one.
-Scotty is somehow also Roary (Who passed away recently.)
They're two separate people. Roary died on the 25th, this is Matpat levels of confirmation bias.
-Scotty is dead/rotting someplace unnoticed.
He lives with family. >: /
-Scotty lives in Texas and was washed away in floods.
The floods happened on the 4th, and he lives in another state. He also stopped posting on social media on the 25th of June.
-Scotty is missing for more then 2 months.
Not yet as of this posting. Again, June 25th 2025 is my personal last contact with him.

-=Closing thoughts=-
I've been holding back on doing a welfare check on Scotty or calling him at work as I understand he might simply be busy, we had talked about this as a possibility before. So I'm gonna be your beacon of hope and if he gets ahold of me, I'll let ya guys know. While he might somewhat appreciate the concearn, I don't want to create a disruption. Keep in mind, (To my knowledge) there are 2 others who have his current information and can reach out to contact him and all of us are pretty much on the same page.

He's got a Second/new job and family with health problems.
We the internet are very very low on the list of priorities and I would hope; that he's busy with those things.

A: If it doesn't pass my sniff test, I'm adding this to the "Crazy rumor list".

Q: Why not do a thorough OSINT?
A: Respect his privacy. Holy snap.

All good, I felt my last journal was a panicky mess and I didn't put out useful and easily digested information. Plus I've been getting weird and WTF rumors about Scotty and wanted to clear them up.

Ok i have to admit some of those rumers are hilarious though I two fell for the two months+ one.

I am gladen that at this time it SOUNDS like theres no imidiate cuase for concern.

I've known Scotty since around 2005 on PalComics Forum before it was hacked and destroyed into a flaming ball of Digital Crap on 2010. Both he and Krezz invited me over here when IB first opened in 2010. Thank them both for it ever since.

Around 2015 we had a NYC meet up with

and myself. Mako was on his way to a convention and took a rest stop in NYC when we met up. And we did the city sites, went to the comic shops, had some Taco Hell, Run into a group Free Huggers in Union Square (A group of "Human" with "Free Hugs" T-Shirts, I'm one of those who do not like to be hugged by strangers...) and basically had a grand day. We met up a few more times, and I gave him an Edna I made from BBMBBF's plans:

He loves it.

It's rare but we met up a few more times before he moved away. He is a wonderful guy to hang out with.

As for the rumors - BULL SHIT! UTTER BULL SHIT!

If Scotty has to go offline then so be. We will just have to be patient for his return. Nothing more. I expect this to have a positive outcome in the end.

Thanks for the information.
It's good to know he's okay. If he said he needed some time, I think it's best to respect his decision until he decides to return.

I'm definitely hoping he pops up soon, because while I don't know him personally; I know too many people who do so I started to get concerned as well.
