Super Illegal Question

by
Maybe my internet-fu isn't as strong as it used to be, but where can I find the "gigaleak" dump that was of a bunch of Nintendo stuff?

All I want is the source code of Super Metroid, I thought I heard it was in there.

Weird question to come from me I suppose... maybe you thought I'd be asking some other kind of illegal question, but this is all I have for now.

I'm getting a 502 error right now, but I'll try again later, thanks-

Darn, it was just ROMs, not the source code.
I'll probably have to get over to a Super Metroid discord or something to get what I'm after, but thanks anyway-

I have a bunch of ROMs saved onto a hard drive from back in the day. If you want any, just let me know.

Joke aside there nothing wrong to go after a prized booty, especially when it’s held by a corrupt company

I commend you for having the guts to ask.  8)

It's been such a long time since I've pirated anything, I don't know how to do it anymore.  One of these days I'll need to find an "unlocked" version of Windows7.

There's been a lot of ports and rereleases of old games that take a lot less work to get running on modern systems than pirating the original release. And plenty of others that get pirated because there's no way to purchase them legitimately. Companies should learn a lesson from those two categories. >_>

It's even worse than "pirating" because I'm after unassembled source code-
I've seen decompilations but they are just dumps of the code in the cartridge back into assembly... I want to see comments and sub-routines and organization layout, etc-

try your luck with a regular Windows 7 ISO, install it on a DVD, then use it to install at will.

don't forget however that if you're installing from a Desktop and not a Laptop you're going to need to use the PS/2 ports on the back to hook up a keyboard and mouse to interact with the installation UI, because Windows 7 does not natively come with USB3.0 drivers and needs to automatically install them later.

once Windows 7 gets installed, you install all the corresponding drivers and such.

-Important Tip: use USB tethering with your smartphone to give Windows 7 internet while you install all the corresponding drivers-

once everything is installed, go look for Win7 Activator Cracks online. just make sure to do so WITHOUT the Antivirus installed yet (this is because the Antivirus will treat Activator cracks like viruses and eliminate them automatically when downloaded)
if you do it right, with tutorials for support, you will have an activated Windows 7 that works smooth as butter and runs most any games of old, and still plenty of games of current times (except those running on UE5 or with DirectX11/12)

best of luck kid!

You might consider asking around the Super Metroid Randomizer discord. I would imagine they could help.

Hm, you're right, may be a better idea than a furry (cub) art site~

https://www.emulatorgames.net/roms/super-nintendo/super...   and you will need a emulator   witch can be found on the same site

But that's just the ROM, yes, I know about that, but I'm after the actual source code of the game that was leaked a few years ago.

pretty sure emulations are a thing

They are, but I don't think you're understanding what I'm asking about; the source code for the game was leaked a few years ago and I'd like to see that code.
I have already played the game on an emulator-

as a huge Super Metroid fan, I am interested to know why you want the source codes for it =)

I code sometimes and wanted to look at what the project looks like, how they organized it, etc.
I'm less interested in how they made Samus jump higher with high-jump boots, but more interested in what logic is happening (and the organization of) when you press the jump button-

ah. Yeah, the game does have a lot going on with jumping mechanics.

oh. A place to ask if still needing it  would prolly be a discord for speed running the game. You know they all dissected the code before it even got leaked.

I like what you're up to. I've got nothing for you but I'm cheering on all the crazy people who are going to do cool things with all the source dumps.

Why the source code? You want to modify something?

I'm doing some lower level coding and wanted to see professional code of organizing such a complex thing when at that low level.

Yeah, some had provided that link before, but it's just the ROMs. I wanted the unassembled code.

If your looking for source code...you could try to see if there is a git hub page somewhere.

There is agit hub of the orignal dinosaur planet after all.
