Today is June 1st 2025. It's the beginning of a new month! A new leaf, another chance and opportunity, a fresh start. So with that in mind, here's a new monthly update!
Calendar
It's pride month. I might want to make an art piece for that this year, if I can think of something. It is also Jonathan's and Jonah's birthday's on the 21st and 22nd respectively. It's also the Summer Solstice on the 20th.
Bits&Bobs
Bits&Bobs has been on a bit of a soft hiatus, since the beginning of May. It remains at about 12k unreleased words towards the prequels. They have been put on the backburner as I've shifted focus to 'BTBF' and 'Binxed!'. That said, it's not far from my mind. Perhaps I can get back to writing some new prequel material during June. I still really want to write about how Kyaw befriended Sven, and I'd also like to flesh out how Kyaw became interested in Ballet. A lot of this is still sketchy and experimental. But just know it's slowly being developed behind the scenes.
Binxed!
Significant progress has been made on Binxed! Chapter 2. There is now 5800 new words. It's not quite finished, there is still one more part to add, but it's definitely getting close to completion. It'll probably need at least one extra pass to iron it out, but there is a good chance you will see a new release within a few more days. Chances are there will be a new Chapter of 'Binxed!' this month!
BTBF
The most significant leap forward this month has been in BTBF. 14,908 new words have been written in the second Chapter of Jonah's first Bible Camp. This is fleshing out the earliest interactions between Jonah and Jonathan and how they became friends. This is very important for setting up the entirety of the novel. This month I'd like to continue with that momentum, possibly working towards the conclusion of Book 1, while also beginning to write about the events leading up to the bible camp (currently that's chapters 8-12 which have some limited writing towards them).
I can't promise there will be a new Chapter this month, but I can say that I've been pretty serious about finishing book 1 and definitely put a lot of work into it last month. A lot of new details have also emerged making things more interesting and rich than originally thought up in my outline.
Since Jonah and Jonathan's birthday's are this month, let's see if I can release something new for BTBF this summer.
Miscellaneous
The usual. I still want to post more Shaw&Felix art. I'd also like to draw more art of Mila. Expect to see her again soon.
Art
I don't have any specific art goals this month, in fact, I've been finding myself a bit frustrated with art lately. I've made several attempts to create some pieces that I was ultimately unsatisfied with. However, I do plan to have at least one new art submission for June, to keep up with my goal of having at least one piece of art each month for the year. We've gotten through January to May (although May was a close call), so I see no reason not to keep it going. So expect one new piece at least for the month of June.
In Closing
It's been an active month of development for 'BTBF' and 'Binxed!'. I wrote over 20,000 words this month combined, which seems like a significant improvement over my previous productivity levels. I have been trying to make a more regular habit of writing a little bit every few days. It's been fun. Hopefully I can maintain that level of productivity this month.
