It's not often I make rants anymore but I wanted to elaborate on things on the mind as it relates to the bad mood Sparks was feeling last week. It's sad to see friends back down from their stances, especially due to mob mentality and guilt by association. Particularly when it's due to their 'problematic art'.
I know it's the internet but in reality you can only moderate yourself. Having been online as an artist for more than 18 years I've witnessed this countless times, through my own experiences, seeing folks come and go. Some have stopped talking to me altogether and others criticizing my art. In spite of all this, I'm putting my paw down even harder than before.
I'm planning to stay as long as I'm able and willing to do art on my own accord, not others. I intend to continue with the work I do, in spite of what other people think. Fiction is an escape and I want to keep it separate from reality. I am NEVER about the drama.
