Wildfires in South Korea: Rising Devastation

Simultaneous wildfires have recently broken out in the southwestern region of South Korea.

Several areas have been completely devastated, and the number of casualties continues to rise.
The fires have engulfed residential areas, wiping out many villages.
Even ancient buildings that have stood for centuries have been lost to the flames.
The wildfires are still ongoing, and the blaze remains uncontrollable.
The estimated burned area exceeds 36,000 hectares. (About 8900 acre)

A firefighting helicopter crashed while battling the wildfires, killing the pilot.
In addition, several firefighters and government officials have lost their lives.
Civilian casualties are also severe.
