When you go back to bed early morning, and pull up a blanket because it's quite a cool summer morning... and see a dark shape MoViNg in underneath it.
Seems to have been a large house spider, likely having come inside after a bout of strong wind the other night, that probably wrecked their web, that I recall seeing in the corner of a window outside about a week ago. Busy little me never stopped to look too closely, what with the busy xmas season. You know, I think everyone would be happier if they just added a couple more x's, and stayed away from the shops for the past week.
I hope I found it a new habitat, but it might not be far enough away and just find it's way back. I really should get those window seals looked at, because one was hanging loose after that strong wind, too. On my bedroom window. Near the web.
See, this is why they keep trying to make nests in and around human dwellings. Cosy, cool, calm and quiet. Bulwarks against the harsh forces of nature, from which to venture forth for the hunt, as insects are drawn in to the light.
Dang, but that spider is going to be on my mind all day long.
