A little advice for them artists following me

You really don't need to be perfect!
We're unironically our own worst critic, and many succumb to the self imposed pressure of having to always do 100% all the time.

Don't be afraid to be messy, to not do perfect inking all the time, try a messy ink brush, break the mold a little, don't worry too much!
Once I realized that, work became a lot more... lightweight, fun, less stressful. I don't need to do perfect strokes every time, I can maybe justbe a little bit messy and patch it up with a different stroke, and it looks just as good!

I'm visiting tufto in america and I'm using his PC as my workstation, and I basically lost all my brushes cuz I'm dumb, so I've been readjusting to similar-but-not-quite the same workflow, but yknow? It's ok if its not perfect!
You should still try to do your best, to improve and learn, but taking it easy and relaxing is just as valuable every now and then.Personally I'd rather put double the effort in composition, anatomy and sketching, and have more fun with inks and colors.

Oh well, enjoy yapping. I wanted to get that out of my chest, I think I'd have appreciated knowing that during my earlier years TBH!

Y'all be good <3

Wow I just saw this as someone dabbling and thanks. It’s a lot of getting used to so many possible styles, colors, brushes, sometimes it takes a lot longer than I expected, especially redoing the lines! So appreciate that advice and I relate with that it’s most fun to focus on sketches, composition and coloring.

Art is a lot of work! I've never been one to experiment a whole lot, I prefer to stick to my bases, which arguably is not the best of things, as exploring and improvising generally helps growth and development, but it's hard to beat old habits lol

Just take a break from now and then and do something more fun, we tend to be worryrats, and 99% of people will not notice if you don't polish every little detail!

I agree very much now I’m getting into it there’s a lot to it, I found things go quicker and sometimes it takes a few reworks… even revisits, so I’m totally with you on taking breaks. But it’s really cool when you put it all together and see an idea completed. I think it’s nice to have an artstyle that works for you, it’s a pleasure to see your works so thanks for the generous advice!

I been beating up myself for wanting to make things look "good" and been comparin myself to others way too much. Got to the point where I was forgettin the basics of the creation because I focused on the negatives.
Thank you for sayin this nerd, it's very important for the mindset.

Wanting things to be good is natural, but the issue comes when we overstress about it. Growth and improvement comes naturally, we fuck up, we analyze, and we improve from it, half the time its subconscious! Of course we can be active about it, just don't push it too hard :>

honestly i love artists that do their style in fact a lot of the artists i watch for their style alone and the fact that i would love to eventually get a commission of my characters in their style

True, I just did a sketch of a drawing that I thought I would eventually upload as a finished piece and good. I thought it would be detrimental to upload as it is so unfinished since i'm trying to emulate a certain style and this one has none of it, but I had fun doing it and I think uploading it like this might not be a bad idea. Still will probably come back to it after a long time but for now, is good enough.

Yeah, I agree completely. Wanting to draw something perfectly is a phase every artist seems to go through until it clicks with them and they don't worry about it as much anymore. It took a while for me to understand that. It's great that you talking about it as it's an important piece of advice. :D

Yeah, you can only spend so many hours perfecting something that by design can't be perfect. It's just more logical to move on and work on many other things instead!
I can only speak for myself, but I've just grown out of the "everything needs to be on point all the time" mentality. I'd rather just use that same amount of time to make inks and colors more fun and add a close up or an extra shot to a commission. I've sort of moved out of very high render artwork over quicker and more abundant pieces, cuz when it comes to porn, while quality is important, I think being able to produce a high volume is a bit more important, and profitable :>

Yeah, I agree. It's just a bit difficult to have the same mindset when it comes to commissions. It's easier when you draw images you come up with and draw for free. But when someone else is paying you to draw something, I want to put in more effort and make it be its money worth. Maybe that's the reason why it's stressful to me when I'm drawing commissions and I should have the same mindset for those as well? x3
