Hey everyone! As many artists, my main income are not the projects, merch and commissions I work on, I’ve been able to survive as an independent artist due Patreon
I've been on Patreon for an incredible 8 years and 8 months, sharing hundreds (maybe thousands?) of full-resolution pictures, time-lapse videos of my painting and drawing process, WIPs, and sneak peeks before posting them on my galleries. The support there has meant the world to me, and it’s allowed me to focus on creating the best art I can without worrying if I need to work super fast to fit numbers on my expenses, and also to take care of my own health at not overworking.
As you might know, there have been some significant changes on Patreon recently, and I know that some of you haven’t been too happy with them. And now, there’s another big change on the horizon: Patreon will soon require iOS users to switch to Apple’s in-app purchase system, which comes with hefty fees. You can read more about this here: Understanding Apple Requirements for Patreon.
To make sure you don’t have to bear the brunt of these fees, I’m planning to keep my prices the same and cover the extra cost myself. It’s a tough situation, but I want to make sure your support goes as far as possible.
Due this, I’m also opening Ko-Fi membership plans! This will offer the same kind of content as my Patreon: -Exclusive WIPs -Early access to works -Full-resolution images -Process videos. -…and more :D
I’m not leaving Patreon; I’m just giving you another option if you’d prefer to support me somewhere else.
My Patreon account has a treasure of content there: hundreds, maybe even thousands, of pictures and videos of years of my work. It’s unlikely I’ll be uploading all of that to Ko-Fi, but I’m happy to share something specific upon request if you decide to support on Ko-Fi and you want to have a full version or video of a specific picture, then I can share it there.
Both Patreon and Ko-Fi supporters will have access to the exclusive Telegram group.
One thing to note is that Patreon allows me to write in-depth descriptions of each piece, share personal thoughts, and upload videos directly, and it has been easier to arrange everything on folders and with tags. Ko-Fi has a character limit similar to Twitter or Bsky, it doesn’t support video uploads, so I’ll be sharing those as links instead, and it’s kind of tricky to scroll on posts, since it is settled more like a social network. But if you’re mostly interested in my art and less in my life updates, Ko-Fi might be a great fit for you.
Supporting me on Patreon has been crucial—it’s my main source of income and it allows me to put a lot of my heart into every piece I do. My ultimate goal is to gather enough support to start the second chapter of Art & Biro, which is truly my dream project, but for finance reasons I’ve needed to focus mainly on commissions.
Thank you so much for being with me on this journey. Your support means more than words can express, and I’m excited to continue creating and sharing my art with you.

Frankly I think this is just profiteering from Apple, and people who want to be in their walled garden should have to pay for it, but it's your call - they're far less popular outside North America, in my experience, but I do appreciate ~60% of furries are there.

Just curious, I'm not going to be on iOS ever unless it's for work: Are Apple able to block people using FireFox or the like on an iPhone from subscribing to Patreon that way without paying the 30%? Using Safari, even?

While anything is technically possible, I don't think it is feasible for them to do that because the FTC is blowing down the back of their neck about the App Store tax as it is.
