What kinds of implements does one use to cast magic?

Off the top of floof's head we got:
Staff
Wand
Grimoire
Crystal ball

Any others?

Edit: More specifically things that can be held x3

Don’t forget about enchantments, could make any item magical. Also summon circles, clothing, weapons, armor, jewelry (rings are very common, but any works).

Reagents maybe? Depending on the system of magic used, of course. Scrolls, too, so you don't have to have every single spell memorized and/or can learn new ones.

Anything technically can be realistically used to cast magic, brooms, toasters, undies, anything you can think of. The prime focus of the magic is to cast it using a "focus" what that focus is? Well that's up to you :3

But if you want to go exclusively high fantasy then gems, accessories, magically infused items like swords, garments or even a crown can be used. One common trope I see is that gold, silver and copper items are best because they are very strong at conducting magical energy and are resistant to being overcharged or breaking from the stress.

Hope this helps <3

Why am I picturing the Toaster from Fallout New Vegas with a wizard hat?

Charms, jujus, talismans, trinkets, blades, chalices, writing utensils, animal entrails, herbs, potions, mandalas, oil lamps... just about anything you could possibly think of and then some. :3

Candles? Every mage has to have at least one big, dribbly candle on a skull, I think. Magic rings, or other jewelry. Circles of protection, especially if summoning things. Mana potions? Fetishes (in the sense of magical talismans or similar artifacts)?

Don't forget hands/paws or purely mental (often visualised with closed eyes and something emanating from the forehead, maybe with fingers on temples.

Uterus?  That's a Pregnomancer's implement, at least~

But don't forget magic circles, although Edward Elric would probably give you a mean look if you call it "magic".

Alternatively you could use rune tattoos that glow while casting.

The limit is literally your own imagination. You can use just about anything as an arcane focus if it's made the 'right way'. It all depends on the caster's personality, magic type, and what item would draw their attention.
