I really like to compare something with something. today, the thought came to my mind, what awaits every living being after death, and what happened before birth?
According to religions, every creature has a soul. I agree. But what is she like? a bunch of quanta with information? an intangible cloud that does not belong to our world? I decided to try to figure this out.
observing the development of neural networks, she is becoming more and more human, and is able to generate text, write music, and draw pictures. It's amazing! but is a neural network capable of gaining consciousness?
someone will say - MAYBE!
someone will say - NO!, the machine does not have a soul.
Aaaaand! again, let's go back to "what is "self-awareness" and "soul". Are these two different things, or is it the same thing?
We need to dig deeper into the structure of the brain and the neuromorphic CPU.
they have something in common, the neural structure is similar to that of the brain and the neuro-CPU. but... there are differences...
-when any technique works, including our favorite AI in a binary computing system. aka 1 and 0
at the same time, the brain also has a neural structure, and has not a digital, but an analog computing system, which is more efficient than a binary and even a ternary computing system. and also, as I have heard, one neuron is superior in computing power to a conventional transistor....
The wonders of the brain don't end there. The brain, in its flexibility and reconfiguration of neural connections, is very similar to an FPGA, which can reprogram logic gates.
example: during a stroke, a certain part of the brain dies, and this part and the organs "connected" to it stop receiving commands from it... they stop working altogether. the plasticity of the brain comes to the rescue, another area takes over the work of the damaged area.. this is very similar to the work of FPGAs, where logic gates also change their work.
considering that the brain is an analog-neural FPGA machine. and the feelings..... this is the production of certain chemicals that activate certain "programs" of this "machine", they launch "programs" of "joy" of "sadness" and others.
and the question arises.. what awaits a living being after death, and what happened before birth? We can try to draw an analogy. what happens if you turn off/disassemble the computer, and what happened before assembling and turning on that computer. it is possible with a living being.
you can also imagine: I have assembled a complex neural network that emulates the brain. She regained her mind, then turned it off. what does this mind feel at that moment of shutdown? nothing. and then we turn it on again.. the period of time when the system was turned off passed unnoticed.
experiment two: take the neural structure, and reprogram it at least a little, rearrange the logic gates, and turn it on again. and theoretically, we will get a completely different "being" that was previously considered "dead"
It can be assumed that consciousness is the result of a complex work of electrical impulses and chemical reactions. But the question is hanging in the air? so what happens after death, and what happened before birth? This is to compare "existence without a beginning" and "without an end"
However, if the entity has died, then it will open its eyes again, but it will be a new being. if there is death, then it is followed by the beginning of a new life, and it is not known who or what you will become. You can't even dream about memories of a past life. after all, the new creature has absolutely nothing to do with another creature, because it was created from other materials, and in a completely random place/world/ universe. Or is it different? eternal oblivion? even if we are reborn with a different consciousness, we will never give an answer... =\
It sounds crazy.. but there may be some truth in this nonsense. =]
