Well, I stayed away from commissions for a while, almost a full two months. It's been fairly productive, as I've gotten a rather large bit done in notes for a novel that I'm working on, and I can probably start that at any time now. Just gotta figure out the starting point.
Anyway, not the point of this journal. I find myself in a cash flow problem. In other words, I need money, and I can't just rely on the part time job I have to get in enough. So, I'm considering opening commissions again. I know I got a few while I said that they were closed – and for those that did try and get in touch with me when they were closed, sorry that I had to turn you down – but I don't know if any of you are still interested. I hope that there are a few of you out there, though, because I think I need to get into the commission work again.
First, though, I'm going to get the price sheet up to par and revise it a little bit. It's something that I will ask anyone that wants to commission me to fill out and email to me, so that I have all the details that I need for writing the story. It's better than having to search through a ton of notes or PM s or anything else that people tend to send the information over.
Also, I'm thinking of opening commissions in limited slots, and in certain sets of themes. Like, a theme a month, chosen semi-randomly. If this stuff interests you, let me know, so I know if this is something I should pursue.
Lastly, just in case anyone is unclear about this, these are story commissions. As in, written. As in, must be read. As in, not visual art. This may be redundant, but I have had people ask. And yes, these are commissions, not requests. There is a difference.
