Personally, I have nothing against AI art to some extent, as long people are not pretending they drew the picture themselves ; The typical integrity side of it. While I understand the real issue about stolen art and assets, in the context of furry artists I find the situation and outcry from them hilarious. The vast majority of artists spend the biggest part of their life drawing porn of characters they do not own, building their reputation and fame for years utilizing intellectual properties they do not own, then on top of that profits from it, most often by paywalling the art for a monthly payment. Well sorry but I'm calling it bull. Artists from the furry fandom, in fact most artists : You can't have it both ways, especially when most of them love to hide behind "Fair use parody tranformative" all the time when challenged, which ironically there is a very good chance AI generated art is inherently transformative
I never intended to be an artist, at least not a professional one, not even as a hobby. While I do like to draw, I've never made it a priority to make art. While it is true that I would love to improve and draw more, the truth is I'm not willing to spend that much time and energy on trying to become better because that would require a ton of time, likely more than the time I've spent drawing since I've started. I also really do not know how to improve. Then other simpler reasons, like how I'd rather spend more time playing games than draw, and having to work all week.
Now that doesn't mean that I'm completely switching route and will only generate art from now on and stop drawing. The actual plan is to use AI as a crutch for the sketch phase. With the help of
I've been able to use AI to its full extent and am able to generate pretty much anything I desire. Most characters I want to draw barely have any references whatsoever, and virtually anything that I draw isn't anthro, so I cannot really use that to my advantage unlike most artists. Using AI, I'm able to generate the pose I want, the character I want, decently looking. I can then use this as a reference for my sketch, terminating what usually was hours of pain and frustrations in the past. Also to note : The process revolves around AI using a very rough sketch I drew to generate what I want, then refine it little by little. I'm not just going to have AI to generate things out of nothing until it looks good then use that as a sketch solely because the end result looks nice. That's kind of dumb
All that entails is AI will help me increase my art input by a lot without any additional fuss. My gallery will never contain AI generated art and I don't intent to make it that way. Before AI I would heavily use other's art as a reference, use 3D models or spend a few hours to sketch something that should reasonably take anyone else 10 minutes to sketch. I do not believe my art will downgrade the way I will be doing things. In fact I'm fairly sure it should look either the same or even a little better, hopefully
Nice to see you think exactly the same as me, especially everything concerning the first paragraph. Don't hesitate to contact me, I can help any of you to get started or improve if that's your desire, just give me a touch. Soon, I may release a post or journal with my exact idea of all of this.
Again, thank you for mentioning me. You're great!
