Hi there! This is casting call for Voice Actors.
I'm getting really short on voice actors and it's really starting to add so much extra time to projects, especially when it comes to planning and casting.
The primary roles I'm looking for, is for people who are able to play younger male characters with an up-beat, cartoony, tomboy, happy-go-lucky charm. My usual paying rate is 250$ for roughly 4 minutes of audio and about 280$ when we start getting towards 5 to 6 minutes of recording.
If you have no idea what your skill is then please don’t stress. Training is provided with either back and forth text or, more effectively, 1 on 1 voice calls. I have an introduction pamphlet to help VA beginners and I’m more than happy to invest in recording equipment. I'm particularly looking for people who identify as transmasc, or are transmen, cis female or other people who were AFAB.
Transwomen are also more than welcome to provide me with voice samples but I can't stress enough how miserable it gets to have to let people down over and over because they just don't meet the voice ranges I need. It's honestly no fun having to turn down so many people and be branded anti-trans. It really doesn’t matter to me what your gender identity is, I just need a specific vocal range.
To apply, all I need is a short audio clip (10 to 20 seconds) of your normal speaking voice talking about yourself or how your day has been. Or if you’re feeling extra daring then you can record yourself roleplaying a character you have invented e.g "Hi, my name’s [name], it's nice to meet you!". Once you’re happy with your voice sample, upload it to a cloud storage service (e.g. Mega/Google Drive/OneDrive) then send me a PM with the link to the recording. You can even upload your audio to your IB account if you’re unsure about using a cloud service.
Please do not use this journal as a vector to communicate with me, I'm afraid I’m only looking for a very specific type of voice actor. I'm not looking for new friends, and I only ask that you do not use your voice on my animations as a 'status' stepping stool unless you already have an online presence. Just please don't come to me expecting fame and glory when privacy is the core backbone of working alongside me, I just like to keep my life very private and going forwards together requires both parties to have a full level of trust.
If you get past the samples and communication stage, it is required that we do a verbal interview and personal introductions. This will include age verification, so you MUST be over 18 and you MUST have some form of ID. Everything can be blurred out, apart from photo and DOB. I mean, if there are VERY particular features about your voice that give away your age then on rare occasions I can make a logical guess, but if you’re under 25 then it's wise to have your ID at hand.
Please understand that I know for some this is an easy vector to try to communicate with me, and I will not reply to messages such as "I would love to voice act for you, but I can only do ____ type of voice" I've received so many PMs like that and then people start to send aggressive follow up messages when I don't reply. I’m casting for a very specific kind of voice & I don’t have the time or energy to reply to people only to tell them they’re not what I’m looking for, even though I already specified what kind of voice I need.
Ideally you should at least have enough technical knowledge to create an audio recording, either on your phone or at your PC/Laptop. Additionally, you should know how to use some kind cloud service (as previously mentioned). Please don’t PM me asking how to do this, just have a quick Google. I promise it’s not difficult. I’m sorry, but I just can’t fall into the trap of hand-holding for everyone that asks. Sometimes people are genuine, but more often it’s just a waste of my time.
Please do not give me advice where I should post/advertise. If you personally know a suitable VA, you’re welcome to send them my way. However, I beg you, please do not send me VA's that have no idea what kind of content I make. It's happened before and the conversation with random bewildered clueless VA's is… traumatic to say the least. So please, keep it to people within the fandom/community.
All that said. Have a go! If you get cold feet then it's literally no skin off my back, and lastly, I want everybody that applies to understand that your privacy is key.
