So today I took my rescue pup, Adamsi, back to the hospital after his fever did not respond at all to his 10 day course of antibiotics. We pulled blood and sent it to the lab for a full analysis, which is due back tomorrow. In the mean time we discussed the likely causes, one of which is terrifying for me: cancer.
Tomorrow I will get his blood results back and will know for sure what he's up against, but the very fact that cancer is a possibility is heart wrenching. I sobbed during the entire drive home just thinking about it. :( In the event that his results confirm this, I will still pursue any/all treatments that I can afford because I feel he deserves a fighting chance. I just pray that it doesn't come to that.
