If you want to draw it, you can.
Don't ever let anyone tell you you're not allowed to.

But probably better if you don't draw it for Twitter =P

But if you insist on doing so, don't let anyone scare you into conforming to a standard furry porn artist drawing the same shit everyone else does.

Absolutely words to live by. Drawing is cathartic for me more than anything, ao adding any kinda limitations would defeat the point

What if it's a character that's owned by someone else and they explicitly tell you you're not allowed to draw them? 🤔

Yes, if you want to be a dick like that. You can draw whatever you want to.

They tell you to not post it, but you still can draw.

But they asked you not to draw it period, not to not post it

They can't stop you from drawing it. How would the said drawing hurt the person who doesn't want it to be drawn, if they can't see it?
Sounds just like the bad people who I'm talking about: people who want to dictate your art without the right to do so.
Every artist can draw whatever they want.

I fully agree with your position, for the sake of clarity.

You can legally use it for practice or for fun, if you keeping it strictly for yourself. In US it goes under "Fair use" protection, which most usually allows nonprofit education and noncommercial uses of copyright protected pieces of art. Only if owner somehow finds out and fill the copyrights claim and then proves in the court that your use was "not fair", then you'll be in trouble.

Assuming I care about copyright law (which I don't, copyright law is the worst thing ever lol)

Well you asked in the first place, therefore you care. Until you stated the opposite it is default logic.

I've been saying this too. I am tired of the twitter mobs going after artists and thinking they are doing the world a favor.

Years ago when I first opened a Twitter account, their upload policy was "as long as what you are posting is not illegal in the country you are residing in".

Well put. This is one reason I've refused to monetize my art, I will not give anyone that leverage over me to draw whatever the hell I want to.

You can draw anything, yes.  However if you share it, then you get ruined and banned from furry cons for life
Neenya

I'll still choose my freedom of expression over anything. Also, I don't want to spend my time with people who get offended by something that isn't real. Cons run by people like that have little to nothing to offer for me personally.

Based!  Me too, it's why I got permabanned from FA for "not a good fit for the community" (never broke any rules, no rules cited).  Also from twitter (never unbanned like the media Elon's mother owns said).  Career I studied for most of my 20s was ended during the Biden/Kamala "vaccine" mandate when my jewish employer demanded to know my faith, I told him I am Christian, he demanded I write it down, sign privacy waiver and when I refused that my career was ended also.  Biden made sure to resume student loan payments a few months ago, so now my perfect credit is ruined and my car insurance costs ~30% more (went up on my final car payment, too).  I'm sure they'll start taking whatever money I put into my bank account soon to prevent me from paying car insurance, which is a legal requirement in this state.  I obviously cannot work in the medical industry anymore, either

The "vaccine" mandate was specifically targeted at Christians.  It's a strategy they have used since ancient times.  That was what "leprosy" was in the Bible, another fake made-up disease to abuse Christians and wrongthinkers with
