They Should Have Made Them A Series!

Sometimes I wonder why I do boots. So few read mine and even fewer reply. Then I remember why I do it.

I love writing.

Anyways, my bloc this time is a complaint at modern cartoons. Is it just me or are so many of todays cartoons big heaping wads of dump? Moreover, where did the animated movies go? I may love cg stuff but I sure do miss the old fashioned ways of pen and ink.

And it hit me: remember all those old games and movies and such? Those cartoons we loved? Why didn't anyone make a series out of some of them? Or bring back the old ones rather than make series that, frankly, deserve to be left on the bathroom floor by those spent condone...... ok try feting that image out of your head. Then imagine these cartoon classics made into series:

The Great Mouse Detective: why wasn't a series made of this?! The way it ended there had to be more cases done! They should have done so. They should have refine some of Sir Arthur Conan Doyles' stories into kid friendly cases, even bringing back Rattigan to cause new forms of mischief. It would have been awesome!

Rock A Doodle: ok ok, a lot of people hated this movie. I liked it so tough (explative!). Anyway a series based on this could play out with silly motley seven minute segments. Maybe have one center on Chanticleer and company as they deal with issues on the farm, and then have a little segment with Hunch and his exploits... and resulting aggravation. Best of all Edmond could have tied it all together. Maybe even turnings back into a kitten to be with his friends?

Wario: he may not be old, but COME ON! Why can't we have Wario in his own cartoon? Maybe have him as a recurring villian like Dick Dastardly causing trouble.... or at least trying to. But he would wind up burnt, smashed, crushed, zombified, and so forth. Heck, we could even have little microgames between segments! It would be so cool!

Rune Factory: think My Little Pony meets Dragon Quest meets superhero show. Maybe add some unique characters for flavour. What more can I say?

Little Nemo: wouldn't it have been great to see Nemo back in slunberland? Sure it would! Best of all, since it was a dream world, he could relate the dream episode he was about to have with the events he was going through that day. Oh and of course Flip has to still be a criminal.

I know there are others. But what? Add to the list! Comment! Call me a nut and demand I feed the squirrels.... ok don't do that. But at least decide on a few other things that would make good cartoon series!

If nothing else, maybe we can shoe thevworld we cannot and will not tolerate another half baked and all rotten series.

Even more retarded? The movie was based on a BOOK SERIES. Disney had at least half a season's worth of episodes already written for them. And they didn't even adapt one of them for the movie itself!!

Thanks for proving my point. This should have been a series. Instead we get Darkening Duck about this time. Granted it was ok but...

Even more WTFism? The Rescuers was the first Disney film to get a sequel. It's based on a book series too, and Neither Film was an adaptation!
