Auld Lang Syne

A traditional Scottish song from Robert Burns for the passing from the old year to the new, but there was one even older, nearly 200 years older:

The "parting glass" was the final toast offered to a departing guest, frequently served when the guest mounted his horse to leave.

Robert Burns made references to this older song in his work and took inspiration from it, but I think the older take is more appropriate and poignant.
