Inkbunny Impressions...

Well after sifting through 332 pages of Inkbunny of users with submissions, I'm almost done. Just have a few more of my submissions from FA to copy over.

Inkbunny kind of has that in waiting feeling to it, some users even express this in their own journals I've passed by on my way to 332.

I hope inkbunny takes off, right now it just feels like a backup or looks like a backup to many artists and unless FA actually went down there will be a lot of people who will remain on the fence unless they actually have to make a choice or when there is no choice.

When I started earlier today I had 75 new submissions in my inbox, after adding people for most of the morning and part of the afternoon it was still at 75. :S

If anyone actually knows me on FA and I'm watching you on FA but not here, lemme know and I'll add you. A lot of accounts don't have any submissions or details so I might have missed ya flipping through.

Cheers,
Acru

There is something to be said for slow growth. There are still many things we wish to implement - not least a resumption of payment processing - and that will all take some time.

Inkbunny is also not aimed at quite the same market as FA. We have more stringent content policies that are likely to put some people off.

Still, things are a good deal busier than a few months ago, and we expect this trend to continue.

All the years I've been online, being too stringent can also cause a downfall of a site. I've seen many sites come and go since 1995 and the sheer nature of the behavior of the furry community itself can also contribute to problems as well.

Hopefully Inkbunny can find a proper balance between enforcing those policies and running the site. That is one major problem FA suffers from a lot of the time. You can find admins willing to mod at a dime a dozen, but more important is how well the website runs and is maintained which usually goes by the wayside after awhile.

I could write a book on this *lol* Already gone through one drama on Inkbunny and I've hardly been here three days :S

It can be tricky. For example, we were hesitant to allow photographs at all, because we have seen the result of their proliferation on FA. Ultimately we allowed them, but only where it is clear that the focus of the photograph was a piece of art which the uploader made, or which was made for them - or when the photo is the background to another piece of art.

As I'm not a fursuiter or a fursuit builder this excludes pretty much all of my own work. But I'm OK with that, because I don't come to an art site for fursuit photos. That's what Flickr is for.
