I hope this finds everyone well. It’s been a whirlwind week of mixed emotions for me but I’m still trying to make headway to get things taken care of. Though I am still in the process of grieving, I am not one to let things linger. As such, many of my brother's belongings have been donated and the majority of his accounts have been liquidated. However, since I was the co-signer on many of his accounts this means that I am now responsible for paying his debts. I would also like to say I am truly appreciative of all the support that I've gotten. I was not really expecting it. It means a lot to me so...thank you.
This in addition to the cremation costs means that I have additional things to budget now. Needless to say, this isn’t really the stress I need right now especially considering the fact that I am not paid very well. As such, I am going to be doing a growth drive with Pent being the focused character as I’ve been wanting to write about that theme for a while. This drive will have a number of incentives both free and paid, so be sure to read the details below for more info.
For those wishing to participate in the free end of this drive; all you need to do is share this journal and provide a link in the comments below of that journal. Doing this will net you 1 free raffle ticket. In addition, the people who left story ideas in my last raffle will also be getting a free raffle ticket. I am hoping this is a small consolation for the fact I cancelled the last raffle. Even though free entries will not contribute to the drive, I appreciate them just as much.
For the paid portion of the drive, this is how it will work. As with previous drives you can donate via Ko-Fi, the link for which can be found below. Each $3 donation will net you a single raffle ticket. In addition, each $3 donated will make Pent grow another inch in the story. For those who commission me during the drive period, they will get raffle tickets equal to every 1k words the pay for. So, if you got a 5k word story, you’d get 5 raffle tickets. In addition, each 1k words purchased will also make Pent grow another inch.
The drive will last from today until 10/14 at 11:59 PM MST. The raffle will be held the following day. Please let me know that you've donated via PM and I will assign you a number. In addition, I will attempt to make this an interactive story, so please make sure you vote in the poll below for the first bit of input. The poll will close a week from today at 11:59 PM MST.
As far as rewards go; there will be three rewards. The rewards will be placed in order of value and the number in which they are picked. The first reward will be a 5000-word story for free. This story does not have to fit the theme. The second will be their character will be included in the story that will be spun off of this drive. The final reward will be 10% off a commission for a story of their choosing. All stories chosen must fit the guidelines of my normal commissions.
All proceeds for this raffle will contribute to paying off my brother’s debt and his cremation. Should proceeds exceed the amount needed, all excess will be donated to a local charity. As an aside, I would also like to thank people for all the condolences that have offered me during this time. He meant a lot to me and this has been difficult for me to process. I am hopeful this drive will be successful and appreciate all support in this matter.
