Listen. I know you, we, have been taught that the correct combination of words and application of critical thinking skills will stop dudes from having hurtful or hateful views and make em love their fellow sentients again, as if debate were some sort of game of chess. But that is not the case. Roarey is not a dumb person. L. Tom is not a dumb person. Most furries are not dumb. Roarey does not need to be "Shown the light," LongTom cannot be shown "The error of their ways."

The fact of the matter is that they know the facts. They know the statistics, they know the numbers, they know the sociopolitical implications of their views. And they have chosen to be as they are. None among them is misguided (Though obviously, if one claims to be as such, leave the door open for them.)

They have the same agency and control over their own fate and decisions as you do. No amount of facts and debate can alter their course. Only major life events in which one's cognitive dissonance is unavoidably confronted for survival may do so.

I guess I'm only a cockeyed optimist, and I can't get it into my head.

We talked not only about tyrannical socialist countries.  Did you miss what we said about socialist communes which did not work either?
Kupok

I'm sure the old Counter Intelligence Program had nothing to do with that⸮
LongTom

No.  Ask any person who has lived under real socialism how things are like for them.
HattieTheHat

They got that way by the actions of the USA replacing their leaders or putting trade embargoes on them.
Kupok

I would like to. However, programs such as Operation Condor have prevented this condition.

There are people on this very site who would laugh at your naivete.

Optimism is good.I simply think one should switch target audiences. Rather then try to reform the firmly decided, one should show the less decided.

As the old saw goes, "There's a sucker born every minute."

Speaking of suckers, I see this in your gallery. Do you happen to have the statistics on reported incidents of transgender girls harassing other girls in a lady's restroom? Or is this comic simply an argument designed to sucker people into perciving trangendered girls as mere perverts?

To note, I desire statistical evidence, not one off statistical anomalies the likes to be reported by news organizations with a clear agenda.
LongTom

I have no statistics, no.  The idea is that you cannot just call yourself a woman and be accepted as one, just as you cannot call yourself an American Indian if the real ones say that you are an impostor.  Happened to Ward Churchill.
HattieTheHat

To be an actual Native American, you have to be descended from actual Native Americans. That's how ethnicity works.
To be a woman, all you need is to identify as that socially constructed category. That's how gender works.
I understand that transphobes don't accept that to be true, just like how flat Earthers don't accept that the Earth is a sphere.
LongTom

Clownfish can turn from male into female.  But that involves metamorphosis.
HattieTheHat

Gender and sex aren't the same thing though. Sex is biological, gender is not. Transphobes would like you to believe sex is all that matters, because it suits their narrative, but doing so strips away a part of a person's identity.

I would ask then that you discontinue trying to sucker people.

I don't sucker anybody.  I tell facts that make your kind uncomfortable.

I said no, remember?
Kupok

I had thought that may have changed, as you had claimed you tell facts. Lacking evidence, an assertion is not a fact.

Stop trying to sucker people.
LongTom

Sorry Charlie, you are doing the suckering.  I don't have official statistics, but I have heard news stories.  But knowing you, I know that if I had had proof, you'd deny it anyway, so why bother?

Take note, Hat and Hat followers. This is LongTom. His methodology is not atypical, this is the perfect example of my opening statements.

Tom is not here to engage in debate, or learn, or even research. He is here to confuse, obfuscate and frustrate.

Don't fall for it. Especially on twitter. Do not engage. Don't fall for "What does obvious and easy to google thing mean?" from nameless accounts especially.

At best, you might call attention to a person lurking in spaces they should not lurk. At worst, you provide only out of context soundbites and fodder for thair communities.

Translation: when you cannot win an argument, you fling poo.  You have provided no arguments or evidence yourself, just personal attacks.  Up yours, hypocrite.

See here's the thing. I can source about transgendered statistics until I am blue in the face.

I can source about the CIA's Operation condor activities internationally,

I can source about our own domestic COINTELPRO, I can talk about Tipped Kettle or any number of declassified past operations, or even ongoing evidence of current missions of suppression.

You will not see the overwhelming tide of peer reviewed evidence. You will see a single flawed one, Zero in on it, and say Ha, that is not evidence. You will say the world, somehow the entire world is in on some kind of conspiracy to alter the documentation. Or you will ignore each link or the topic at hand, You will find a new topic. What about this and that? Or you will conclude, if you have not already concluded, I am one of them I am some nefarious agent of some government or corporation. Perhaps you will even do the smartest thing and cut your losses, stop responding entirely, find an easier audience to grift.

Do you want to prove me wrong? Do you really wanna stick it to me and show me who's boss?|
Change. Reflect on your views, on your course. See your static and unchanging ways and understand that remaining firmly in place is fundamentally, not how time works. Your overall bitterness and spite at a world seemingly leaving you behind will be reduced when you see the hand offered by the world moving forward, inviting you to move with it.

I will start. I will apologize for those who say your too old to party or be apart of the world. Those persons are wrong. I am sorry. I apologize for those who have overreacted to what you felt was a perfectly normal and acceptable comment that may have, perhaps, lost it's relevancy and luster in this ever changing tide of chaos. We should not seek to attack over minor things, and I understand that happens far, far too often. We shouldn't seek to call you a bad person because you may have said trap or tranny or called a black criminal on TV a thug or any number of things that was perfectly cool in the early usenet days and webring days of furry, but has fallen from favor.

Those who attack for the sake of attacking, as if to curry favor, are wrong. In a way, Hatty calling you out is not the best way to be. I am not free from this behavior either, I recognize it as negative and wish to change it.

I would like you to consider though, How hurtful it may be to a person like Alynna, to a person like D. Simpson, to any number of furries even from our age and time who have struggled with their dysphoria to see comics like yours and see the daggers aimed at them. Even if you term those as "Some of the good ones," no person with an immutable characteristic wants to settle for being "One of the good ones."
LongTom

At least Dana Simpson had the surgery to remove her ding-a-ling-a-ling.  Unlike a man who simply says "I am a woman", she can legitimately make the claim.  OEM women found my cartoon funny BTW.  And they even do take offense to someone invading a personal space meant for them.  I don't think you would care for a complete stranger barging into your personal space uninvited either.

I've known other people like you who read some wild literature and think they know everything and everyone else knows nothing.  There are literally hundreds of crank articles about going beyond the speed of light too.  Yes, there are real conspiracies-look at professional wrestling.  But I'm not going to fall for every cockamamie theory which has no real proof.

I'm not left behind-in fact you are.  Most of the people who don't believe in 5000 genders are younger than me.  I even remember the Soviet dissidents.  Celebrated in the West, considered cranks in their own country.  You don't sound like you get out much.

It's not a question of statistics, it's a question of manners.  It's bad manners to barge into someone's personal space no matter how many times it happens.
Kupok

It's a question of you presenting a scenario that just does not happen. And for what purpose other then to sucker people into thinking transgendered folk are perverts?

There are, or were, cultures where men and women share the same toilet area where the tacit understanding is that people keep to themselves and do not look at other peoples' nudity.  If people were to do that, separate bathrooms would never be necessary.

during the period of 2019 i listened enthusiastically to a lot of right-wing commentators - Prager-U, Ben Shapiro, Larry Elder, Lauren Southern, Steven Crowder and so on

i'm a libertarian myself so i was taken in by their claims of being all about freedom, individualism & individual rights, small government, free expression etc

but then it turned out that they're nowhere near as libertarian as they claim to be. so my 'love affair' with the right came to an abrupt end - and not a moment too soon xD

There's different types of socialism though, various types of first-world European countries are considered "socialist", even the nearer Canada is often called that.
They're very much not tyrannical shit-holes that political propagandists try to claim like having to wait for socialized medical appointments, and high taxes(empty phrase, to greed any is "always too high").
-which is the same damn issues we've long had in the US- and the US on average has a conservative bias, so once again blaming everybody else but themselves.
There's a conflation issue, too many US Americans are programmed to think it's the same as communism and Nazism (and even forget those two were at war, people are dipshits).
Similar to that "Liberal" & "Conservative" parties in Europe often are very different than the US ones. So, self-centered assumptions at play.

The rampant gaslighting has made it difficult for people to even recognize human rights, so it's kinda a lost cause to defend "Social"
anything now (in there is a horrifying irony that people can't even see).

Eh, people have a nasty habit of taking one side out of impulse & gut feeling, but those are terribly unreliable things.
People keep losing sight of the fact that the US was at its best only when it's a balance of many things...
A little capitalism, but short of cancerous monopolies. Greed is motivation but not to be trusted EVER.
A little socialism (help people succeed), but not reward failures(fat orange irony).
A strong government but held accountable & not in the hands of so few.
Invest in all talented people, but don't hire just to fill diversity quotas.
Balanced taxes - civilization costs money, but just tossing money at things is dumb but most corporations are cheap fucks that typically don't pick up the slack and they cheat at it.
Freedom of speech - but is the right to question, not to incite harm & fraud (imagine if companies can lie unrestricted about products & services - there'd be no point in anything existing anymore). And reality doesn't care about anyone's feelings getting butthurt.
Restraint but not cowardice - some people do deserve execution (*cough*certaingenocidaldictators*cough*), but demagogues are especially not to be trusted with this.

Of course now people are aware these things are out of balance, but they double down on cults and swindlers promises to "fix" it (they'll "fix" it alright..).
Somehow the concept of electing qualified professionals was lost long ago.

..since people are predictable knee-jerks, here's a likely reply to this:
"Then why don't you move to Europe/Canada if you like them so much? "
Then I'd say: " That's practically a literal lateral movement (same problems), can't you read?! "
