VG Cats was a big part of my childhood and high school years so it's kinda sad to see the characters and IP end up like this. I was aware that he went through some shit so tbh the writing was on the wall. I may not be getting much art of VG Cats going forward. I won't delete any of the art I already commissioned but, as I said, I'm a bit uncomfortable getting any new stuff.
I had some ideas for crossover art or porn that might've gotten drawn in the future (drawn by a better artist lol), not sure where these concepts would end up now.
The VG Cats fanbase has been in the shitter for a while now. I was a member of both discords and they were pretty inactive aside from random posts from very few users. Someone went insane in the VG Cats discord and started posting porn of the characters to spite Scott. I'm not sure how much that contributed to this shitshow.
In conclusion: Never meet your heroes and commission Oufro instead
Thanks for the tip - I posted a Newsbyte about this on Flayrah. Disappointing, but not entirely surprising given his historical disdain for the furry community. I guess maybe he felt that everyone would take "unlike for like" in the same way that Leo did (which was like, a year ago now...)?
