Double Vision Progression

by
Before, I was able to dilute the double image if I drooped my eyelids.
Now even with drooping eyelids, it doesn't work anymore.
If this condition isn't reversible I'm going to have to retire.

I'll let everyone know if my conservative treatments ever fix anything. But the situation is quite bad.
</3 Than you.

I'm afraid you're streaming too long and not taking enough of a break. I hope I'm wrong and everything will be ok!

You're possibly right, and maybe I need to get some changes to my routine. I'm going to hope. It's just hard to understand because I've always used digital screens, so I wonder how the situation suddenly is like this. Thank you so much, I appreciate the message. And will be thinking about it a lot. <3

Double vision, you may just need glasses. If you already wear them, maybe go get a check up.

I've always had perfect vision I'm not sure what's going on. Maybe I'll need glasses. But I still see everything fine it's just my eyes pick up a second useless image somehow. Hopefully everything's alright :( I just started trying everything possible
Thank you Unistar <3

We age, and things deteriorate naturally at different stages for everyone. Don't assume the worst before you know anything. :)

I'm only 20 years old, but I am still hoping it's just something finer as you're thinking. And hopefully I can still be an artist like normally.

I know plenty of people that have worn glasses since they were kids, It's not uncommon to need glasses in your 20s.

I think I've tried on my mom's glasses recently. Although they are her own. I would expect maybe something to happen. But the double vision stays in alignment as always. That is considering the case of increasing nearsightedness. I do highly believe in dry eye or something else. I've been researching for a while of months. Thank you on your thoughts though.

On the other end I think you might be referring to eye straining causing the problem. Maybe it's what's going on, though I've always had fully clear vision up to now

Your mother's glasses are fitted to her requirements, not yours. Eye straining and dry eyes are very common, they do not directly relate to disorder or degeneration, but over time you may experience shortsightedness that can't be corrected without glasses. Maybe try using yellow tinted computer glasses, those relieve strain. However i think your double vision could be cornea related, and strain will cause headaches more easily if that is the case.

I hope things get better! I was gonna poke you later about my comment before, thats no goods, is there no procedures to correct the double vision? Just thinking about it and how mentally exhausting that must be D:

It's okay, I'm sorry I think my vision issue takes a lot of my mental energy and I forget messages on accident because of that :(. Yeah if I can't see anymore it isn't any good anyway. From what I hear I could have dry eyes, but there are other bad possibilities. I hope it's not too late. Thank you a lot for your care Tyven sweet. <3

Double vision can be caused by a number of things actually. Its best to have an eye doctor take a look or even your primary care physician. Hopefully its just an easy fix and have you back up seeing normally soon. I tried crossing my eyes for a bit to cause double vision while I did work and yea. Really disorientating, hard to focus on something like typing or even moving mouse. I can only imagine how impossible it would be to work as an artist like that. Go get yourself taken care of. If they don't help, take away their cookies till they do.

Ditto to what Unistar said. You should definitely see an optometrist.

I just scheduled an appointment to a practice local to me. It's going to take 3 weeks. Hopefully, my eyes aren't gone forever. Thank you so much LemonMeringue, I really appreciate it a lot.

20/20/20 rule people!
every 20 minutes, stare at something 20 feet away, for at least 20 seconds!
it un-strains the eyes, allowing them to relax.
it wont fix anything if something is already going wrong though.. but it will greatly prolong a healthy, happy eyesight.
should also be noted, the 20/20/20 rule only really works, if you stare at screens all ay (and as a digital artist i assume you do?)

but i agree with the others. you likely just need glasses to realign your sight.

Thank you, I believe in it but I'm really not sure what's going on. I put on some different glasses, they don't really do anything. This is either a simple dry eye case, my irritated neck nerves. or something else bad.. Thank you though, this has been my case for 4 months and worsening.

My sympathies to you for this horrible problem.  What is the current treatment that you are being given for this, and what do you need to do to get a new/better treatment?
Felyn

Thank you. Unfortunately, I don't have a diagnosis, but I've been able to reach some ideas myself. I started doing a certain muscle stretch today and I went to the store to get some expensive eye drops. I'm just hoping this isn't the end, but I feel so nice to hear your message you care so much. That's the most of what matters to me right now

staring at a screen for to long can make people dizzy, get headaches, see double, hurt your eyes, etc. your spending so much time streaming and not enough time letting your eyes rest. staring at a screen for so long can really hurt you especially if you already have diagnosed eye problems / vision problems. if you keep that up it can possibly damage your vision or make your condition worse. im not trying to sound mean felyn but your only hurting yourself here. at most you should stream for an hour or two and then take a rest. depending how long you can go before the double vision kicks in. even then you should take some time away from your screen for a little while and focus on recovering. if you dont itll only get worse.

Okay. Thank you eeveefan.

I don't know the details so I can't offer any advice, but I assume you're doing everything you can to fix the problem. I know when I had my tendinitis flare up and couldn't work for a month I was worried my art career was over and how scary that was. I hope that whatever treatments you are getting help and that you are able to make a recovery. <3

Thank you Aogami. I think hearing you and how you felt the same as if things were never going to be able to recover makes me feel like it's still possible to get through. A lot of love <3 thank you.

You might be dealing with vertigo which could last between a week to 30 days
Felyn

Thank you for the thought. Someone told me before it could be nonstandard migraine. This was a thought I had that maybe I'm dealing with vertigo. Time before I was dealing with feeling unbalanced and getting vertigo attacks. Thank you for your thought again 💕💕.
