DOMA unconstitutional, but...

A federal appeals court ruled DOMA violates liberties by treating same-sex couples as second-class citizens. However, of course, a couple of dipshits are still fighting for it, saying they'll take it to the Supreme Court if they have to.

I find it interesting that people are failing to remember that the Defense of Marriage Act was signed into law by Bill Clinton. Shortly after he said that he supported gay rights. Democrat and Republican politicians. Same shit, different pile.

Think this is bad try Amendment 1 for North Carolina. Not only does it try to define marriage as only being between a man and a woman, it strips all rights from civil unions and protections from those separated from abusive relationships. And the way it looks, it looks like there trying to pass this as fast as they can and as quietly too.

That is what happens when they don't uphold what the foundind father put in clear black and white writing, Church and State Shall remain Seperate. Yet that is what is not happening. The State is influence by the Church so much that they try to define marriage.

I do hope they find it unconsitutional and finally uphold what we fought for in 1776.

Hah, all men created equal and not be alienated by their goverments. : so says the politicians. Outrageous more people aren't up in arms against the discrimination.

Heh, there are people using religion as a power point in elections for congress (or sherif, can't remember which with all the dang votes going on right now) elections

In truth its all the politicians.. Indeed everyone is holding elections and all the talk is enough to make anyone noxious.

All the republicans are using the religion as a standing to pave their way into a white house seat. Especially religion against marriage. rick santorum's entire campaign is nothing short of being a complete religious zealot.

The worst thing about the whole elections is that no matter who you vote for this year, you are damned. There all crooked in my opinion. Its like you are damned if you do and your damned if you don't a true catch 22.

I have nothing against thouse religious folks that thinks marriage should be only a man and a woman. What I don't like about it is the fact that Marriage is strictly religious. True the state can marry two people but its always been a religions ceremony and gathering. And the State sees this as married couples have more rights than unmarried. Not to mention with the forcing of only a man and woman its like forcing who one should love. Its just wrong in my opinon.

 For One not everyone in america is a christian, not everyone belives that marriage is something only for religion nor does everyone think that marriage should be only a man and a woman.

History seems to be quite repetive and I wouldn't doubt that there will be another civil rights movement to oppose the goverment and finally give equal rights to all civilians of the country. But I doubt that will happen anytime soon. Just look at all the oppression by the government. Where people are being beaten with batons, tear gassed, and peppered sprayed for standing up for what they belive is an unjustice by the government.

=/ Its rather sad. The only actions anyone can take is to write all there senators and hope to convince them. Unfortunaly that rarly works for the reason that they are all crooked, or cowards. The reasoning I make is the fact that they are too religious or they rather not be involved in something controversial they risk their own jobs. After all noone wants loose a giant pay check.

Everyday I see more and more this that and the other where the goverment has striped the peoples rights and in truth capitalism just doesn't work. There is no true democratcy nor republic in america dispite having two parties. None follow any form of government like a republic or democratcy. The people don't have a say in the laws, the legistrate does, and there are no seers over that dispite having three branches of government formed in checks and balences all they know how to do is ballence their own check books so they get all the money and as the saying goes; the rich gets richer and the poor poorer.

Indeed I write alot and I seem upset about all of this but this has been going on for years and just geting worse and all we can do is try to make our voices loud but what we need really is what Egypt had, go marching down to the goverment plaza and tell all them aholes to get the F out.

even if it makes it to the supream court the justices will SHIT all over this bill. They are an extremely impartial bunch and really don't give a rats ass about gay marriage or straight marriage beyond weather or not any part of this bill would actually violate the constitution or peoples rights. Thats there job.

one read through of this trash heap and I would put money on a unanimous vote to block it.

The problem is, these people are human, and a lot of them are more or less greedy, looking only at how to fill their wallets with more money...

Thing is... Letting gays marry means more revenue in the long run, so we can count on them to do the right thing...
So long as they aren't greedy, religious people

But I didn't follow elections, so I don't know who is who >.> could be completely wrong... Dunno

I feel, and RIGHTly so, if churches want to play in the politics pool, stop using my tax dollars and fucking tithe it yourself.
