I wholeheartedly agree. IB really gave me a sense of community that I seldomly experienced in an online plattform, before.

yeah, definitely. I've recently broken up with my partner and I've had nothing but kind words and caring messages from all my friends on here. It really helps too after a monotonous day at work. :)

I'm glad that this place makes you happy. The people here are definitely a lot more warm and welcoming than...pretty much anywhere else out there. It's always nice to come by and see a little friendliness in place of the usual apathy and bickering.

Facebook is to social networking as Taco Bell is to Mexican cuisine.

This place is a lot better than Facebook. The interface has next to no bullshit, and you don't have a robot suggesting stuff you "might" like or people you "might" know based on an algorithm with the accuracy and validity of Rush Limbaugh. Facebook only did one good thing for me, but all the other bullshit its swamped with tries desperately to outweigh it.

I feel the same way about IB. i seriously wish this was a home. IB has helped me through so much. emotions and getting friends. this website tops Facebook by 1 zillion. Everyone, especially like you,Lando,are so sweet and kind and it is a safe haven because no one picks on anyone. And it feels like we're all a family. Starling really did an amazing thing here.

I completely agree! I consider myself extremely fortunate to be surrounded by so many awesome people, and such amazing talent. I've been around the net for a while and the community that IB has is one of the best of the that the net has ever produced imho.

At the risk of sounding old...(You whippersnappers get off my lawn!)

What year did I get "online"? Bonus if you can answer without looking it up!
-Windows 3.0 was cutting edge
-HTTP and HTML were just being introduced to the public
At roughly the same time -Linux was just being introduced to the world as the first freeware operating system.

I gotta admit it .. I really love it here. The place is really well designed, there are friendly folks everywhere, and nobody has a reason to complain about my favorite things in art ... this feels all warm and safe.

In all seriousness it's really nice that you say that, and it really helps me in turn feel warm and fuzzy about sometimes reaching out of my quiet habits to offer a (potentially meandering or perhaps I'm imagining that) compliment.

Yet come to think of it you've already given your thanks by replying so profusely across a fair percentage of the comments you do receive. Your gratitude's already implicitly there. =)

And I certainly think Starling has helped you settle in and make it like home, given the backgrounds he's encouraged you to contribute... which relax us in turn with those peaceful landscapes!

Inkbunny is very calm. It feels like generally everyone here takes this place seriously and people try to share their best work around here and not just post stuff just to compete for attention. I also like the philosophy of this place too.

When I come here I feel like I'm taking a great big exhale and I can take it easy.
