You know...

I've been on Facebook, telling my friends and family that they should keep their ear to the ground since January.

Maybe grab an extra can of soup every time you go out shopping, just in case. Maybe restock those things that have been running low but you put off?

Do you have cleaning supplies? Do you have all your medications squared away?

Have you stocked your pantry?

It's disheartening to say that I did when most of my family just rolled their eyes. Now everything is getting rough and people are starting to panic.

All I wanted to do was draw animal people mooshing their bits together and making a mess, goddamnit.

i've tried to do the same a bit for .. well. since january basically.. and a bit mroe during last month
i've been called many things from pussy to chickenshit..  accused of spreading panic, even though i directly have said many times, that panic is unnecessary, don't believe people spreading fear and terror on facebook and youtube.. but yeah... quite a few people have believed me.. and now.. at the moment, people still write journals that it's just a little cough.. that it mostly is dangerous to the elderly...
while in statistics, half of the people in intensive care hospital units at the moment, in netherlands and italy, for example, are under 55yo .. today, they have called army to help in northern italy.. to gather the dead people, since the capacity of morticians etc..  is not enough... in many towns and cities, the crematoriums are running day and night, and they have to move dead people to other towns to cremate them, because crematorium capacity in many places is overwhelmed.. at the moment, wuhan flu is the most common reason of death in italy, by a wide margin.. and one has to remember. that under a month ago... february 21st.. italy had ONLY 3 CASES !!! ... it went from three  cases, to army moving dead people and curfews, in under a month..
again, imho, there is no reason to panic, and i really don't want ever to be the cunt who says "told you so" ,, but, now is the last moment really, that in many countries people can still do somethings to slow this thing down.. like personal hygiene and avoiding human contacts and public as much as possible etc..
panic kills, and is wrong, and there is never really reason to panic
but also.
belittling this causes as much harm, especially when belittling is done by people who others look up to.. and might believe..
this is not just a little cough and fever for few days.. young people can also have very serious symptoms from this.. permanent lung damage is a possibility.. by some rough estimates atm, around 15-20% of people who are infected with this, have serious enough symptoms that they warrant hospital level care.. and if this spreads too fast for hospitals to cope.. like it did in italy.. that 15-20% can soon be the mortality rate...  in many places it is still quite low.. like 2-4% mortality.. but in italy it is already above 6% .. and rising all the time...
so.. my advice is.. be vigilant, be carefull, do not panic... act rationally, try to look for official data only, backed up by many sources and facts.. do not spread rumours, .. and for gods sake, don't go into your local supermarket and wrestle with people about toiletpaper.. that's literally idotic...

I stocked up more than a month ago because I saw the panic buying coming.

There were people back then who laughed at me for doing so...Now days, I have asked some people, "Who's laughing now?".

yeah.. exactly.. i was trying to tell people to be prepared , and don't panic.. and i was spreading panic i was told.. "coward".. well.. now that the panic buying is in full swing.. i have necesseties for weeks, slowly started buying since january, avoiding all the unnecessary hoarding frenzy..
i don't want to be the cunt in few weeks when the sh** really starts hitting the ceilingfan , but the urge rises daily..

We have a larder. Canned meats, soups, extra water, canned veggies, stocked our freezer, and we have a couple bags of rice and beans. If we had all of our utilities turned off, had no power, and couldn't leave the house, we could survive in our little corner of the world for up to two months.

My brother and father have what they've got in the fridge, most of my friends don't have even that.
