My Grandma Got Her Wings.

This morning, my eyes are filled with water because I can't stop crying. And my life will never be the same again. Today, I lost an important person that has took care of me when I was a young child and looked out for me thru the very end.

My grandmother, Edith Hinton passed away of cancer this morning surround by her friends and family at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. She was 81 years old.

My grandmother lived an incredible 81 years of life, love and spiritualism. Edith was woman of so many fine qualities. She was many things to the people who knew her and loved her, and to those of us here in Dallas who knew my grandmother...

She was our Miss Ellie of this family, she was a fine mother to five children (Preston, Marcus, Melvia, Teresa, and Glenda), a grandmother and great-grandmother, she was a caring person to her longtime friends, she can laugh at anything of makes is so funny... and everyday in her 81 years on earth, she would bring a smile to our faces.

My grandmother chose joy over happiness. Because to me, happiness is something we react to somebody gives you something like hugs and kisses, but she chose joy. And as she was in ailing health, and yet all the way through and even in the last few weeks of her life...

Anytime you run into her at a Pharmacy, Bank, Thrift Store or at a Grocery Store; she still have that smile on her face knowing that with cancer its inevitable would end up succumbing to it... she still decided to chose joy.

Granny... I love you, I'll miss you and until we'll meet again, don't where and don't know when... I know we'll meet again.

Rest in Peace, Granny and Godspeed.
