The democrats are and always have been worse than the republicans. I've been sick of them for 26 of my 30-year life, since during my first four I wasn't aware enough of my surroundings to have political opinions.
And republicans have often been pretty darned dirty and underhanded, just never as bad as the democrats on literally any issue. Voter fraud and election tampering? Republicans do it, Democrats do it more blatantly and more frequently. Racism? Democrats were the pro-slavery party when Republicans were founded. Their relative stances on racism never changed, it's just that when blacks received equal treatment under the law democrats shifted their overt racial biases to favoring them in order to bribe them for votes rather than on oppressing them directly. Illegal spying on private citizens? Bush was lambasted by fellow conservatives for doing this when there was a war on terrorism going on; Obama dropped the excuse of the war and then doubled down on the government intrusiveness.
And while it was a republican that instituted the first Income Tax, democrats have always pushed harder to expand it more and more until it became the mess it is today.

Companies can't change direction so quickly, and even a sudden influx of cash (by tax breaks, which actually means an increase in EXPECTED net revenue spread out over a year) doesn't mean growth that fast. New equipment purchased typically has to be fabricated, then installed, tested, and certified before it's output can be sold to the public.

Coal as an energy source is very expensive compared to the other two. Coal is still needed for Steel production, but it can be supplemented with Charcoal, which is renewable.
