Holy shit, the rabbithole of data entry goes DEEP for this gig.
Seriously, they wanted some pretty high expectations from me on my first day and to say I felt overwhelmed would be an understatement of the highest order. Still, my brain reformed decently enough to finish up my first project, but I couldn't close it out before my supervisor left for the day.
Also, cell phones aren't allowed in there because a few females thought it'd be damned skippy to use Facebook/Twitter while they were taking a piss break. Way to ruin it for everyone else.
As it is, it's still a nice company if not the QUIETEST company I've ever worked at. Seriously, I felt bad talking over a loud whisper. There's lots of people and I don't know most of them yet, so here's hoping my good nature shines through.
Also, there was a guy with a shamrock-themed Cat-In-The-Hat Hat on today. It was groovy. No one minded.
Lastly, from what I understand, it's considered the norm for someone in my department to be considered 'fully trained' at somewhere near the SIX MONTHS WORKED mark.
Oh boy. I love a challenge.
