A person breaks the law, they are a CRIMINAL, they don't get to go to jail WITH their kids because the kids weren't breaking the law, but the kids have to be put somewhere, and when they are coming over by the thousands, it is a bit hard to place them in foster care or find family back in their home country. So they get held for a while till they can be shipped back to their country or with legal family in this country.
Also, there are illegal immigrant "coaches" that tell actual hardened criminals like "MS-13" members that they will have a better chance of getting into the USA as "asylum seekers" if they come with kids, so they will often kidnap or pay kids to go with them for a better chance at getting in.
Someone with kids commits a crime in the USA, they don't get to take their kids to jail with them.

-"Hate Facts" are truthful but "inconvenient to the political correctness narrative" facts that are sometimes used to reinforce certain viewpoints.
