And now: a moment of curious thought.

So, we all know that drinking and driving is dangerous because it costs you your focus on the road, people get hurt and/or killed, and it ends up on the news. And we also know that texting and driving is also dangerous because it costs you your focus on the road, people get hurt and/or killed, and it ends up on the news. Both are pretty much common sense.

But then, an Adult Swim bumper came to mind, saying, “Don’t drink and drive, don’t text and drive, but DO drink and text, because that’s always funny.” And that got me to thinking: driving while doing those things was dangerous because it involved a large object which the knowledge needed to operate it was the fine line between using it as a mode of transportation... and using it as a weapon of mass destruction. But eliminate that, and the possibility of destruction is practically gone. No focus on the road is needed, no one gets hurt and/or killed, (physically, anyway) and no news stories occur from it.

So, in conclusion: Don’t drink and drive, or text and drive, but drinking and texting is perfectly safe. Change my mind.

Edit: Mind changed.

It's perfectly safe from a physical and maybe mental point of view, but it's a social risk: you could type things that could put you in trouble, things you wouldn't type while sober.

Maybe not exactly "perfectly" safe.
Being drunk, one could always say something that could start a fight with someone.
