A few fun bugs

Hey all

Thanks for the feedback so far! A few fun bugs have been experienced by a few of you.

The most common is odd counts in the New Submissions and Messages sections. We know about those problems now and will fix them shortly.

We also discovered that if the "time of day" of the background changes (which happens if you set your Location on the Account Settings page https://inkbunny.net/account.php ), it sometimes asks you for the site password again about 4 times in a row. If it does that, just enter the password as many times as it needs and tell your browser to remember the password again if it asks. It shouldn't ever do that again to you.

That bug will go away once the site goes live anyway, as there will be no site password anymore!

The most asked-for features so far are a Private Message system and a Story module. Both those will be added shortly.

Please keep giving us feedback and have fun!

Thanks

Starling

Yay story module! If I may: a text module like Cub Central's, or something similar, would be awesomesauce. I LOVED how in CC I could display it as a web page, meaning that my story, really a .doc file, would open immediately for the viewer.

With FA, I can only guess how many people clicked the thumbnail, saw it required downloading and opening in Word or whatever, and smacked backspace. Things had to be no-text-formatting *.TXT files to come up immediately on FA... with tiny, hard to read font (not like the luscious, biiiig juicy font on InkBunny!!)

Cub Central displays .doc files?  I didn't know that.

Starling has said that Inkbunny will parse and display .rtf and .txt files, but he didn't mention .doc.

You know, I just realized that if you put your two names together, Jery Starling, they kind of mesh well to create a full name. ^_^;

Hehe I am looking for a last name to fit Starling, but it won't include Jery anymore as part of the name.

Q. Will the story module support any sort of ebook format (PDF, epub, Plucker, etc. etc.) for sale? Zipped or otherwise. Pleeeease put this on the wishlist if you aren't planning it so far.

I've been wondering about if there would be an ability to sell stories, but then I couldn't help but think how or why.  Maybe if the story also had artist illustrations...

But I don't think my stories are good enough to sell, anyway.  Yours, though...

If a few writers got together and made story collections it might work out.. with illustrations too. Would be quite popular I think! To sell things they gotta be extra special somehow.

You can sell anything you like as a sales file. It lets you upload literally any type of file for sale, and then gives the customer a coded download link once the money is paid.

Futher to this, I would suggest the kinds of things that would sell well are nicely formatted PDF versions that most (all?) screen and Ereaders can handle, and make it a compilation of all your work for 2009, 2010, etc. I don't know if people would buy just one story at a time.. then again.. maybe I'm wrong! It's up to you guys to see what the fans will buy! I guess if you set the price really low it could work out on a per-story basis.. just make sure they are big and beautiful stories that are complete and edited. :3

I'm considering ebookified versions of series, not individual chapters. In essentially every ebook format (epub, PDF, Plucker, Mobipocket, plaintext, possibly HTML, etc.), zipped up (so the purchaser gets every format they'll need). I'm considering special art and so on. Still considering what to do. I might compile the old stuff, too, with some new art and so on. I think, for a non-DRM'd copy of, say, all of Sandy Paws (remember that I'm not finished the series yet) with a few pieces of new art and possibly an introduction or "director's commentary" bit at the end, $5 would be reasonable.

I hope Sandy Paws never ends, and instead turns into a long series of Elix getting it on with adult couples.

...

Well, I can dream. XP

Sandy Paws Year 2 is a glimmer in my eye, dear. Things are in the works. Don't you worries.

Did Year 1 end with Part 5, or is there still more to come?

I know you said the series as a whole isn't finished, but you mentioning Year 2 makes me wonder when Year 1 ends.

Also, while I know that it eventually does have to end, I hope it's not anytime soon. XD

Oh, it hasn't ended yet, nope. That'd... be an odd way to stop it. It'd imply that Elix never left the resort, ever. It'll have a 'proper' ending. And.. I've ideas.

Well, if you ever want more cameos... XD

(I'm such a whore.)
