TMI Tuesday

Dropping a TMI Tuesday before work (after taking a week to answer the last batch lmao). Been trying to get some work done on my commishes and other stories, little by little.

Alright, same type thing as always, I ask, you ask! Let downs... you've been hyped up for this movie/game/show that is coming up, you can't WAIT to get your hands on it... and then... it comes out, and it's like someone shot a hole through your parachute, and your hopes just get sunk down and stomped on hard. Anybody here ever been super hyped for something that just ended up blowing major ass, or even just being mediocre?

Generally i don't get too hyped up for stuff, so i don't really get disappointed either... Though a couple christmases i've been pleading for video games that i've found somewhat underwhelming, i guess that'd kinda count |3

It's not really TMI, but... i had an idea about a smutfic between Sonic and Geoffrey St. John, and i thought i might need to commission that from you at some point, unless i get excited enough to do it myself, but... what do ya think? |3c

Oooh, Sonic and Geoffrey is a pairing I've been wanting to do actually! My commission queue is full right now, so I have to finish some of those first, but you can shoot me the idea if you want! Glad to know someone else likes that pairing lol XD

Smash Bros 4. As someone who isn't into multiplayer, Smash 4 was a big step backward from Brawl to me.
That, and all the characters getting leaked online, and it doesn't take very long to unlock them either... it's just a huge letdown.

I guess I'll just throw the same question back at you :p

I'm in complete agreement about Smash 4, it was like a straight up downgrade of Brawl to me, and it let all the wind out of my sails when I tried it lol...

Hmm, for games, the last letdown game that I got was Mass Effect: Andromeda. After ME3's catastrophe of an ending that almost fucked the whole series, the next game had a LOT to both, live up to, and make up for... and it bombed pretty hard in most of those respects, and shipped basically unfinished. The combat was fun, but because of the way they handle powers and stuff in ME:A, it was very easy, much too quickly. The story was surprisingly shitty, considering the huge potential such a plot SHOULD have given them, and they blew it, and the characters, something that ME was loved for, were kinda jokey and bro-ey, and not very appealing at all.

Another one would probably be Shin Megami Tensei 4: Apocalypse, which is a sequel/spinoff to the Shin Megami Tensei 4 main game. It sorta feels like it starts you right in the middle of the last game, where at that point you'd be medium leveled and with some strong demons on your side, but in the new one, you're some random new guy, and you're back to a level one shitster lol... I enjoyed SMT4 enough to beat it (it gets very tedious at the end, testing my patience), but the sequel is like a chore to wade through, and I don't think I've played it much at all this year.

Admittedly, I'm not disappointed often. In most of Nintendo's history, you get exactly what you expect from them. I'm a Nintendo fanboy. XD
Only recently has Nintendo started subverting expectations and pissing me off. BOTW is something I really...don't want to see again. I want more structure in my Zelda games...and dungeons...and to be able to fight without having to pause every ten seconds (why do people not hate that??)

Heh, I can agree with plenty of those XD The Evil Within was something I was psyched for, and then as more and more info came out, I kinda started suspecting it was gonna be shit... the only way I'll get it now, is if it's on a big sale, just to see if the gameplay is fun at least, even if the story is stupid as hell.

Oh, I have quite the sweet tooth, so I have a lot XD I could practically make a list longer than the one you posted lmao X'D I'm going through a bit of a gummi phase right now, and I have peach rings, and couple bags of cola gummis stashed in my room right now actually lmao, but I also really like Milky Way, 100 Grand Bars, Twix, and one of my favorites are Payday bars XD

Hm... I'd have to say the biggest letdown that I remember was Naruto: Shipuuden. After hearing about how overblown it all got, I felt pretty damn miffed. They focus way too much on Naruto, killed off a good character, turned it into a DBZ-esque thing when it wasn't meant to be, and just threw in too many plot twists. I wish they kept it more simple.

Oh yes, Shipuuden... I'd watched and read the manga fairly avidly, and thennnn... it started to turn, just like you said, into a fucking DBZ or Bleach-like anime with ridiculous world-ending powers and shit, and the Sharingan getting new ridiculous abilities every other chapter it seemed... I was pissed that they killed Neji, almost for no reason except to piss people off, and I sorta stopped reading after that point lol... I don't know how it ends.

Oh, I have quite a few purchases I regret lmao, but they're mostly small petty things X'D The worst one I can think of off the top of my head is probably a chocolate pudding cake I bought at the store one time, because I wanted some cake. I ate two slices of it, and told everyone that they could have some too, expecting them to basically share the rest, annnnnd, nobody did. So it ended up getting tossed in the trash after a week (I didn't wanna pig out on an entire cake by myself lol) because it got hard and stale lol. There's probably other stuff, but that's the first one that came to mind lol
