I feel the need to make this journal because this attack hit very close to home. Literally. You don't expect a tragedy of this magnitude to happen to a city like Orlando. My thoughts go out to my fellow Floridians who lost their lives, and their friends and family having to deal with the grief.
This will no doubt be used as political fuel. I personally think this was just one dude with a sick mind driven by extreme hatred to kill, and this will unfortunately continue to exist regardless of anyone's race, religion, or what weapons they have access to.
While I'm at it, I also was very saddened by Brussels, Paris, countless places in the middle east, and everyone else who have been the victims of terror. It just makes you more uneasy when it's in your own back yard.
