Orientation Date to Job Corps

So...it seems that I have a bit longer around here than I initially anticipated. My mom pretty much KNEW that I was stalling out and doing everything in my power -not- to call the Job Corps office. So, she tok a trip to the unemployment office to get some stuff done for herself, and looked up Job Corps stuff online, and she found out they're having a huge orientation thingy at the unemployment center on the 21st. So that's when I'll be going to get all signed up and crap, I assume. So, I'll likely be around for the rest of this month. That might be it though.

What does Job Corps actually do? From what I've read from the past journal is seems like you get trained for certain random field of work.

It's not random. You get to pick which specialty they train you in. You stay there for a year or two, however long it takes to get your certificate of completing the course. It's realy not a bad thing, it just isn't for me. x.x I'm not the type that responds all too well under...military like settings. As in, everybody wakes up at this time, do this at this time, free time at this time, go to bed at this time, later, rinse, repeat. Again, its an awesome thing but with my internet being regulated, internet time being regulated moreso, and being under control like that has never been my thing. I'm gonna end up disconnected with a LOT of friends for months on end, that...will suck, majorly.

Yeah, I've never talked to anyone that hasn't outright disliked their time with Job Corps. I just hear so many bad stories, and I wonder if maybe it's just a bad sample size...

It probably does. My judgement of it so far is just going by what I've heard. And by what I've heard is just the outside story. I've only heard one inside story and she's all for me going.

Well, in any case, I wish you the best. I know we kinda got outta touch, but I still think of you as a good friend, and I'd hate to think that you'd be miserable there.

Please, don't do it! I beg you! I've lost one friend to Job Corps before!

He was someone I cared for so much and since he left I haven't heard a single word from him like we don't even know each other exists!

I don't want to loose you too...

It's not something I WANT to do as much as I GOTTA do. And don't worry. I don't ever forget my bonds, I know where I came from and where I belong. I'm not going to let job corps break these chains. Don't worry. I'm, in no way, gonna forget about you guys at all.

And if I get hired somewhere BEFORE the 21st...that'd be awesome because then I won't have to go.
