Hi everyone,
I'm a 32 year old gay dude who lives in the Northwest burbs of Chicago.
Just to set the record straight, I don't really consider myself a furry, nor am I into the whole "fursuit" thing. However, I am a big fan of the artwork on this site. Additionally, if I had to pick a "fursona" it would be the character J.J. who I created. You can read about him in the stories I posted here. Some people look at my screen name, "bearchaser79" and assume that I consider myself a "bear". The character I mentioned earlier, J.J., who I consider to be my fursona is actually a lion.
So why did I use the handle "bearchaser79"? Well, first of all, I use that name on a number of other sites and I wanted to be consistent. Secondly, in the gay community a hairy guy is known as a "bear". Also in that same community a guy who is sexually attracted to men that are overweight is called a "chubby chaser" or "chaser" for short. Since I consider myself a chaser and also tend to prefer hairier guys, I started calling myself bearchaser. The 79 is the year I was born in (yeah, I know, I'm old). I guess the third reason I use that name is just because I've always had an affinity for bears. They are my favorite animal and just about any cartoon bear I see I think is adorable!
