Abby and Rick are so sweet together, and I really admire Rick for being sweet and loving enough to accept the kits as his even if they aren't kin to him by blood. The little ones are all so adorable, too! I wish I could think it would all turn out okay and that they'd all survive the winter, but I can't help but be afraid that this won't be the case. Still, I wish them all the happiness they can have while they have it, and I'm absolutely captivated by the story so far. Whatever happens to this young family, I admire their perseverance and their love for each other.

If they can't find any rabbits or mice, then they should be able to find some berries. Fruits don't grow in that kind of weather so that's not an option. Incects would be good, but finding them would be a problem. Great story so far.
