Semitic goddess, imported in the Egyptian pantheon during the New Kingdom. Deity of nature, beauty, and sexual pleasure. Wife of Reshep, Syrian god of plague and war, and also thought to be a wife/consort of Min, god of fertility (or other translations, suggested to be Min's mother). She is depicted as a beautiful woman facing forward rather than in profile view. Though originally a lunar deity, she was depicted with Hathor/Hethert's horns and sundisk after being worshiped as an Egyptian goddess. She is often shown holding a snake and flowers, representing the male and female genitalia (though this is also may suggest her association with nature aside from "human nature").

After looking at a post on tumblr, I came across an image of Qadesh. Her name stuck out at me and I felt drawn to look her up. After I did (and considering I am a devotee of Min and Hethert), I just HAD to draw her but more in an abstract/surreal kind of way. I personally feel this was her way of reaching out to me and requesting my attention since my interests fall under her domain.
Since she is of semitic origin, I used an image of a Lebanese actress as inspiration. I can't remember which right now but I wanted her facial structure to reflect her racial origin....if that makes sense.

The above information on Qadesh can be found here (http://www.ancientegyptonline.co.uk/qadesh.html). I roughly summed it up into a paragraph.
