First Inkbunny submission, but the latest in a series of projects I've done with Daz Studio, in this case Daz Studio 4.8.
The current experiment involves Melody 2, and in particular the Iray renderer. Unfortunately, it also showed just how badly my Geforce GTX660 is aging.
What do I mean? Two hours.
That's how long it took to render this image. And each of the images that came before it while I was still tweaking things. The scene involves one character with six clothing items, one hair mesh and her tail; Two props; and four lights. Despite the relative simplicity, rendering this scene with Iray took almost two hours. The GTX660 has never been a BAD card, but it's definitely showing its age now.
Granted, there are methods I can use to speed things up, however they come at a cost in quality that I just can't stomach. Hell, the noise on this image is only just within my tolerances.
I love the results, don't get me wrong, but I'm not sure I can stomach two-hour render times. Sigh... time to save up for a new graphics card, I guess.
